The cost of inkjet cartridges is something that is close to my heart, and if I were to buy genuine Epson cartridges for my Epson Stylus D68 then it would cost me £25. This is an extortionate figure when you consider that that is half the cost of the printer!!!!!! So always on the hunt for a bargain I scoured the length and breadth of upper brook street in Manchester to find a suitable generic cartridge. The Mac and PC centre round the back of the Manchester Aquatic Centre had just that these babies cost me £12 for all four.........
The E611 (Black), E612 (Cyan), E613 (Magenta), E614 (Yellow) fit Epson Stylus D68 / D88 series and DX3800/ DX3850/ DX4200 / DX4800/ DX4850 printers and at £3 a piece they have the potential for being a veritable bargain, which floats my Scottish boat. Installing them into the printer is as easy as pie you just slot them into the required slot and you are away. The ink level meters work as well as ever but it is noted that you are not using an Epson cartridge which could affect your warranty.
Comparing these babies against the Epson, by printing out a photograph I previously printed using Epson cartridges I can see no visible difference in quality, and there is the same lack of smudging. My only concern being now how long they last when compared to Epson cartridges...... That was easily tested by printing out a copy of my 130 page thesis that my former boss and now emeritus pain in the backside professor wanted a copy of. This takes up about 2/3 of most of the cartridges which was about the same as the Epson printers. So I can safely say that they are an absolute bargain, as they do the same job for half the price.
The only downside is that using non-Epson cartridges could invalidate your warranty on your printer, but as I have changed cartridges 4 times on my printer then I have saved enough money to buy a new one if needs must.
So as a fantastic way to save money then these cartridges are great and I would heartily recommend folk to search through specialist computer shops in their area to see if they can get their grubby paws on them, rather than be ripped off by Epson cartridges.

I think the last paragraph more than adaquatley covers that

Recieved a comment for not justifing my 'somewhat helpful' rating!
It would be useful if you could tell us where these 'oh so wonderful' cartridges could be purchased outside of Manchester!
Does that help you?

The price of proper Epson cartridges really is shameful.... I just don't get it personally. Cheers. Christina ;-) x
