Advantages: Cheap, provided Firewire cable and non-linear editting software
Disadvantages: Editing software is basic

I bought this because it was the cheapest firewire card that I could find in PCWorld for £19.99. I wanted it for my JVC DR-G33 DV camera so that I could transfer the video from it to the computer for editing. The card is used to add Firewire to your computer. Belkin DVD Creator Video input adapter review

Advantages: Works, lifetime waranty, easy to use(its just plug and play)
Disadvantages: Nothing special about it, equivalent prducts can be found everywhere
