Belkin DVD Creator Video input adapter review
Review of Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 DVD Creator Video input adapter by
somebodyyouknow
Advantages: Works, lifetime waranty, easy to use(its just plug and play)
Disadvantages: Nothing special about it, equivalent prducts can be found everywhere
What can I say about it except it does the job and does it well. Its fast (as the name suggests) and is compatible with the industry standards (up to 720x480pixels and 30fps) I hear you cry what makes this better than any other analogue video to pc cable and the answer is not very much. You plug it, in use the included compatible software and copy your source to pc. It works with just about any standard analogue source. Its a pretty standard piece ... ...the slosh of the general market, its as good as any and has a lifetime waranty but I'm sure you can find the equivalent of this product for less. I only recomend it for the life time waranty, not that much can go wrong on a cable and a bit of software. ...

THE ultimate solution for TV on PC! Cheap&Quality
Review of TerraTec Cinergy 400 TV by
EVIT
Advantages: the price, the quality, the usefulness of this card
Disadvantages: small codec problems can only be solved by a reinstallation
This is one of the best purchase I've ever done. I've always had the need of television on the pc and when I first set my eyes on this PCI card I couldn't believe it costed so little. The card gives you the possibility to add video/audio input on your computer and the great opportunity to record on hard disk (in different codecs included DivX). It comes in a box with all the needed cables, installation CD, and an infrared remote control that, interacting ... ...placed virtually everywhere you want, can be set to be used with several other programs too, including Windows Media Player but virtually all the programs you want. The card has an aereal plug, composite and s-video inputs. Practically you can both plug your tv aereal and anything from a VCR to a console. With this card you can transform your pc into an actual TV. The best of all this is that you can record in divx everything that passes from it, ...

Review of Dazzle Video Creator DVC 130 by
Surj1
Advantages: USB, Quick & Easy Video Editing & Conversion, Good Software Included
Disadvantages: None
The Dazzle Video Creator DVC 130 is a cool piece of kit which basically records your videos from a camcorder, VCR or any other video equipment with analogue outputs. That's the reason I bought this and its easy to use.
When recording videos from your camcorder it uses hardware encoding for high quality MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 files without using your computer's CPU. This enables encoding to be simple and quick. You can either transfer videos straight ... ...get in the box:

Overall the Dazzle Video Creator DVC 130 is an easy to use and powerful piece of kit which anyone can use. You don't have to be a video editor to use this as it can simply be used to edit family holiday or party videos ...

Good Hardware, Bad Software
Review of Freecom DVB-T USB stick DVB terrestrial receiver / radio input adapter by
ugm6hr
Advantages: Cheap, Works
Disadvantages: Poor software
...the story is different for Linux users (specifically Ubuntu 7.10). While Freecom does not officially support Linux, Realtek (who make the DVB chipset) have released a driver that has been modified for easy installation by the Ubuntu community (just search the forum). It works flawlessly with Kaffeine (free media player). ...

Wanna watch Freeview
Review of Afatech AF9005 by
donley
Advantages: Cheap, feature packed
Disadvantages: Too powerful for Windows users
I bought the Afatech AF9005 card of e-bay for £9 and to be honest it is the best USB device I have ever seen for bringin in digital TV.
The adapter is a generic one built around the afatech chip in its name. A bit like Renault calling a car an Elf after the engine. I used to have a Freecom DVB-T adapter for the same thing but this Afatech one does a much superior job for a quarter of the price.
OK down to basics.
First and for most I am a Linux ... ...matter.... usually. But this adapter worked straight away after I copied the generic firmware into /lib/firmware.
( linux users, email me if you need this), then scanned for channels on Kaffeine and found 44 TV and 38 radio, this is well impressive for Freeview in my area. The Freecom one could only bring in 30 channels for the TV.
Under Windows, the drivers are installed first, then the adapter is plugged in.. Windows is a bit backwards sometimes, ...
