INSIDE SOAP MAGAZINE
PLEASE NOTE: Inside Soap magazine has changed a LOT from the picture above. Also note: I haven't got the latest issue but the 2nd latest issue.Some of you might know how I love soaps & love to find out the latest big soap rumour. Usually I buy the TV Times & AOL gives me the latest plot news from Eastenders,corrie & Emmerdale etc. but on my latest holiday I needed something to read...
Usually when I get a magazine I would buy almost any, fortnightly All About Soap has been my preferred favourite for months now, aswell as Soaplife. My main issue with All About Soap is though it dose'nt have a tv guide, & it dose'nt talk about dramas like Waterloo Road etc. Inside Soap is different from this because it has it all...HISTORY
Inside Soap was launched in October 1992 as a monthly soap magazine with a tv guide. In 1995, it went fortnightly, & was priced the same. Then, in, September 2003, it went weekly, priced a little higher.FRONT COVER
As you can probably see above Inside Soap has the logo, but now it runs all the way across 1/4 way down. The date is supplied above the logo aswell as the words with 7-day tv guide! plus the price (£1.50) is located at the bottom. Above the Inside Soap logo 2 small(ish) soap story plots are given away with one big soap story or latest soap rumour news plastered across the main cover of the magazine. 4 other soap stories are also pasted on the cover around the side & bottom.INSIDE
On the first page of the magazine you get a welcome by the editor (Steven Murphy) plus an email to contract him (editor@insidesoap.co.uk) Soap stories are placed under the soap headiing with the page they are on, plus the dramas & the tv guide too. Pictures from some soaps are included too.WHATT INSIDE SOAP INCLUDES
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN?INSIDE SCOOP
The main bit of the magazine (before the soap diary) about what happens in the soap & stories of that week. 2 pages of the main plots are included with 1 to 1/2 pages for the small plots/stories. Latest news/plots is included in this bit too.WHAT HAPPENS WHEN?
7 day guide to the soaps plus pictures to show what will happen and questions to buzz your mind with left wondering whats going to happen. Plus, a sneak peek at next week is included too.THE BIG INTERVIEW
Usually an interview with 3 stars from each soap with up to 3 pages per interview. This keeps you busy for a long time & you also find out how the star feels about the storyline/plot too.INSIDE GOSSIP
8 pages of gossip from the soap stars (like Inside Soap sees them & takes pictures & posts them in the magazine. The stars answer your questions is included too with a catch up with.. put in aswell. Beauty box is added too, with a star added & which make up or clothes they wear, plus, where you can buy the stuff from.INSIDE TV
A 7-day tv guide with 4 pages of terrestrial & satellite listings (all colour coded) A pick of the week is included too.PUZZLE TIME
2 pages of crosswords, arrowords, sudoku & soap star links, with the solutions for the last issue of puzzles, how to enter is placed at the bottom.SOAP BOX
Letters sent in by soap fans & requests are included too, if you want to send a message, their are 3 ways. All are stated in the magazine.INSIDE...OUT!
1 page on what the soaps have been on about this week, with also 5 things we did'nt know last week about soap stars.SUMMARY
In my opinion this is worth £1.50, but I still don't know how they manage to pad this out every week! It is fun & easy to read plus it tells you all you need to know about soaps & tv.Thanks for reading!
