As you may be aware from my opps on house decorating I have recently had a kitchen extension, in the process of getting a porch added to the house . I have many a time picked up magazines from the library to get ideas. Inspirations is the magazine I got this week as we are thinking to revamp the bathroom now! Well maybe next year.

This is a glossy monthly magazine 154 pages about interior design. This magazine contains articles on all aspects of interior design It has a section on shopping, where to buy items guides about items. In September issue there is a guide and comparison about wardrobes.
Articles about peoples homes, London flats to Edwardian terraces. How people have decorated and fitted their homes. There is an article about photo frames might have a look at that to get an idea for my mums birthday I may buy her a frame to put a picture of Adrian in.
There is a section on kitchens my kitchen is finished now I found magazines like this useful to look through for ideas, ooh I do not like the pink kitchen displayed on one of the pages. I prefer the classic kitchen. There are articles on paint styles and fabrics. I notice some articles on garden design in this magazine too. There are a couple of recepies added to the kitchen design section.
There is a reader’s letters page, competitions. Advice about adding money to your property, how to present your house for selling it.
This is an all round house magazine giving a little info about a lot of things just enough to make you start thinking about ideas and any that attract your attention you could research then with more detail somewhere else. There are of course a lot of adverts. I found this magazine quite nice to browse through maybe give or confirm ideas I have.
Been a skinflint I would not buy this magazine but yes I might borrow it again from the library if it had an article in it that I was interested in. / Thanks for reading Mary
Advantages: Very niche - for home designers Disadvantages: None at all
I have been buying Inspirations since it was first published and I keep every copy. That's how useful this beautiful publication is. It is a delight to read and look at and for those who like to actually make things and do unusual things in their home it's to tops. There is a very 'crafty' feel to Inspirations with loads of 'makes' for exapmle, sewing for the home, restoring old furniture, crafty home makes, beautiful garden accessories and furniture ... ...rather than relying on shop bought items. Apert from interiors and exteriors Inspirations have features on shopping, crafts people, readers letters, news and views. It's all there. This is the only magazine remotely of it's kind. It is completely different to all the other interiors magazines and I LOVE it! ...

My Grandmother was an avid scrapbooker and I still have 2 of her albums, filled with snippets of all the greetings cards that she had received over the years.
In he past I have made many scrapbooks with my children,a way of entertaining them on a winters day,its an inexpensive hobby that can keep anyone occupied for hours.
The magazine is exactly as it describes itself..inspirational..

Advantages: good ideas, usable free gifts Disadvantages: ideas not always broken down into steps, some abstract themes.
Papercraft inspirations is a magazine based on paper crafts, mainly card making with the occasional part relating to other things like tags and scrap booking.
This magazine is monthly and costs £3.65 and as long as I've been buying it, has always come with a free gift of some sort. It has varied between embellishments, ribbon, stickers, papers and ideas booklets.
The magazine is always filled with plenty of inspiration for cards on a variety of themes, including major seasonal ones. This month's has card ideas for Art Deco styles using glass painting techniques, butterfly cards, cards for dads (and men), flower based designs, birthday cards, good luck, new baby, retirement and peel off cards.
The magazine also always includes a section on what is new, with a focus on new products and embellishment ranges, competitions and give ...
Advantages: Great magazine Disadvantages: Could offer more freebies
Wonderful magazine with lots of ideas and inspiration. The resident crafters are very skilful, helping readers to try new things all the time and offering advice. The magazine is very good quality with lovely colourful photographs throughout and good advertisments. They also give lists of helpful websites worth visiting and real shops in order of county. Readers can send in their creations to be displayed on the "Reader's Gallery" in the magazine
The letters page is entertaining and informative, I alway like reading what other crafters are getting up to. There could be more freebies given away with the magazine though. For £3.99 - most craft magazines of this price range give great gifts every month. I still recommend this book to anyone starting off or experienced scrapbookers - it is a very addictive hobby! ...
