Reviews of Instant Cameras »

Great fun.

Advantages: Easy to use, instant pictures, no batteries required.
Disadvantages: Expensive films.

My 6 year old son had a Polariod One 600 camera for christmas, the camera cost £24.99 including a film. The camera itself looks funky and it is quite compact for a instant camera, and includes a flash. There is no batteries needed as the film powers the camera, the films are quite expensive at about £9.00 each and only holding 10 pictures. The films are simple to load, then its just aim and click to take the picture, instantly the picture comes out ...
...within a minute or two the picture develops. The camera makes quite a noise when it churns out the photograph. The camera takes colour pictures, but we've found the colours to be abit pale. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to do abit of photography for fun, or for children. The picture quality of this camera is nowhere near a digital camera or even a normal film camera. This camera is great fun for children and adults alike. ...

A Good Buy

Advantages: good quality photos, simple use, bright flash
Disadvantages: bulky shape

...I decided to buy a polaroid camera I found that wasnt a huge ammount of choice and that really the only option i had was to buy the Polaroid one 600. I was hesitant as it was quite expensive but i am pleased with my purchase. The camera is large and this often proves difficult when taking photos or when carrying it in your bag as you cant just slip it in your pocket or hang it from your wrist. However the quality of the photos is good. They always ...
...the photo from where the polaroid is ejected from the camera. Yet this is confined to the bottom of the photo and doesnt interefere with the image too much. Once youve read the instructions its easy to load the film and remove empty cartridges. All in all the polaroid one 600 was a good buy and provides me with good quality polaroids. ...

Ease of use

Advantages: easy to use, and you don't have to wait long to see the photos
Disadvantages: can be a bit tricky at first to get use to

I find my camera comes in very handy. My grandchildren especially like it as they do not have to wait long to see the photos that I have taken of them. Another advantage is that if the photo that you have taken has not come out too well you can take another without having to wait to send a film away for developing. mine came in very handy recently when my son had his car broken into. He was able to take instant photos which were invaluable for ...

Instant Photos WOW

Advantages: Quick photos,fun to use
Disadvantages: Expensive,bulky, heavy

I received this as a present a number of years ago as digital cameras were not available yet. At the time they seemed like a good idea and the thought of having an instant picture taken and seeing how it turned out was very exciting indeeed. Ok the size was an issue and replacement films cost like £5 but the overall concept was straightfoward and fun. For each roll of film, you only get 10 pictures and each one that is developed is quite small and ...
...was certainly a good bit of fun at the time. Portability was certainly an issue as this is heavy and can't be easily stored or carried around-especially since it is an awkward shape and bulky. In terms of features, there were virtually none. To take a photo, you simply opened it up and then point and take the picture. After that the photo pops out and you wait for about 5 minutes until the picture becomes clearer. Overall this was a good idea in ...

Compact but not Cheap!

Advantages: Compact, Fun to use, Instant photo's
Disadvantages: Expensive films, Not very good for outside use

I recently received one of these dinky little cameras for my birthday, upon first inspsction I was a little dubious as to whether the camera would be upto the job. I am please to say that I was pleasantly supprised, I found the camera easy to use with clear and concise instructions from how to load the media to taking the little stockers off of their backing. I found that the camera struggled to focus on object outside if they were more than a ...
...this may be in part down to me and my poor eye sight. The film supplied with the camera was quickly consumed so I spent the next couple of hours trawling the internet for cheap film pack suppliers, I found Ebay to be a very good source of cheap film. All in all a clever little camera ideal for Kid's with disposable pocket money for the expensive film! ...
