Insurance Express - Motor Insurance

In the summer of 2000 I got a new car, a Peugeot 306. Less than a month before I had renewed my insurance through Insurance Express - no hassles so far. When I came to amend the insurance to the new car me and my partner had no end of trouble getting it sorted out! Here's what happened: 1) They provided us with a quote higher than the previous D reg car which was a turbo! 2) We sent documents of ownership to them (twice) and they lost them 3) They said they were sorting out our insurance but each time we called they didn't know what was going on. This opinion is based on my very recent experience of dealing with my insurance company for the first claim i have ever made after being the victim of an accident. A month ago i was driving my beloved Mercedes along a local road on my home when someone decided to pull straight out in front of me from a side road,the impact wrote my off and i suffered injuries to my mouth,face and neck. In May of 1999 we purchased our first car - a D reg Nissan Bluebird Turbo. I shopped around for the best insurance deal knowing that the premiums would be high. I found Insurance Express brokers the best and they gave us one years no claims bonus to start us off as we had been hiring cars for some years and so Dave had plenty of driving experience. We renewed in May 2000 - the price was higher than some of the other quotes I took, so I queried this. If there is ever an example of the cheapest not always being the best this company is it! Tried to get monthly premiums for my stepson and web site wouldn't allow it. Funnily enough allowed me to pay in full which I now wish it hadn't! Stepson decided to move away so I rang to bring forward the date of the insurance (car was bought for his birthday). I asked if there was any cost to this and was told there wasn't. They wrote asking for paperwork even though we had been told they didn't need it by their own staff. I had been searching around for the best deal on my car insurance! i was with Elephant Insurance and on renewal the price they offered was higher than the year before which prompted me to shop around and not just automatically renew as i have done in the past! i saw an ad for them on the net and then spoke to Sam who offered me a really good price and explained exactly what my policy included (including courtesty car cover which was very reassuring after hearing a horror story from my friend). i called elephant and they werent able to price match. seeing as the policy was over £90 cheaper i ... more
