2) We sent documents of ownership to them (twice) and they lost them
3) They said they were sorting out ... ...to send us the final insurance document (and they also included someone else's as well!!!)
7) They quibbled over no claims bonuses. I had three years - they said I only had one, even though I got 1 year free when I joined the year before!
8) Took us ages to get any compensation for the letters, phone calls and inconvenience...

Different person each time. 4) They were rude and obstructive 5) I ended up driving out to collect a cover note which turned out to be incorrect anyway 6) It took them weeks to send us the final insurance document (and they also included someone else's as well!!!) 7) They quibbled over no claims bonuses. At the end of this insurance (June 2001) I am looking elsewhere as I do not want me or my partner to go through the same again. Awful!!!!

...experience of dealing with my insurance company for the first claim i have ever made after being the victim of an accident.
A month ago i was driving my beloved Mercedes along a local road on my home when someone decided to pull straight out in front of me from a side road,the impact wrote my off and i suffered injuries to my mouth,face and neck.
The police arrived and everything was taken care of by way of legalities etc, the policeman quoted ... ...the shock I contacted my Insurance company to put in my claim.
Talk about add insult to injury, they could not offer me a replacement car even though it was written in my policy that i was entitled to one.
They asked for all sorts of information etc and so began the saga of form filling, photcopying documents and trips to the post office for registered mailings.
The day after my accident the Rac whom i belong to for roadside assistance telephoned ...

...shopped around for the best insurance deal knowing that the premiums would be high. I found Insurance Express brokers the best and they gave us one years no claims bonus to start us off as we had been hiring cars for some years and so Dave had plenty of driving experience.
We renewed in May 2000 - the price was higher than some of the other quotes I took, so I queried this. I was told that the free years no claims given last year was really just ... ...the explanation and renewed. The insurance cost £466.
We then brought a brand new Peugeot 306 Meridian and I rang to ask for a quote to change and the quote was £560, almost £100 higher than for the Bluebird! When I queried this I was told that the firm insuring the Bluebird specialised in high performance cars so the insurance for an ordinary car was high. I suggested that he try some of his other contacts. He eventually got back to me with a reasonable ...

...forward the date of the insurance (car was bought for his birthday). I asked if there was any cost to this and was told there wasn't.
They wrote asking for paperwork even though we had been told they didn't need it by their own staff.
They then charged for the updated policy even though they said they wouldn't.
Stepson moved, car broke down and too much to repair but got insurance on his girlfriends car arranged by her dad so I asked for a refund ... ...at a credit of over £800.
Requested credit end of November. Called 2 weeks into December and was told cheque had been sent. I said cheque not received so they said they had to check that (me telling them isn't good enough?) and they would credit back to my credit card.
Each time I called I was held back by data protection act as I am not the policyholder (merely the policy payer!!)
Have sinced called about 5 times and they still keep mentioning ...

..."customer services" to close my insurance policy, finally I managed to get confirmation that the bill was settled & the policy was closed. And then 3 months! after cancelling my policy I received a letter demanding another £130 on top of what I was originally quoted for the policy, claiming there was a "shortfall". This turned out to be the most expensive & frustrating insurance policy I've had. First I had to make untold calls to "customer services" ...
