Ok! I like many others no doubt, saw the adverts. Stay claim free and get your first years premium back after five years. I went online and was given a quote there and then. One thing I found very impressive at this point was that they were able to cater for me online. This was impressive as I have points on my license and only had three years no claims. Many insurers won't deal online with these circumstances. I got my quote and it was around the same as my then insurers (£450 for fully comp). I registered and thought what the hey, I'll hopefully get this money back in five years so it's an investment.
If any of you have read any of my previous reviews, you'll know that I don't have a credit or debit card and so I was given the option of paying the whole thing off by cheque or paying a deposit by cheque and then 10 monthly payments. I wanted the payment plan and was a little disappointed to find they charge interest for this (it was 28% apr. I still went ahead though.
This is where it all went pear shaped. I sent a cheque and all the necessary forms. After three weeks I had heard nothing so I rang. They claimed they had not received the cheque or instruction to go ahead. I cancelled the original cheque and sent a new one along with the new paperwork. A few days later I received my policy and documents and payment schedule. Great! A few days after that, I received another set of documents! I rang, they said they had received both cheques and would cancel one policy. They cancelled both. I rang. They reinstated one but by this time I needed to pay the full amount. I sent a cheque for the full amount - they lost it!
On one of my many phone calls, one of their staff admitted that the organisation left a lot to be desired as they were still setting up the business. I was a little concerned. However, it was eventually sorted and I am insured, quite cheaply but with a huge amount of hassle. I will remain with them but purely for the money back option, I am however a little dubious that they may not even be around in another four years.
My advice is simple. By all means use them but don't send them cheques, I don't believe they are able to deal with them efficiently. If you have to send them a cheque, send it to their actual address and not the PO Box address and send it recorded.
Advantages: Cheap (very), cash back, very good service. Disadvantages: Have to stay for 5 years to get the cashback, APR is high for monthly payment
Last year I decided to find the best quote I could and went online. I had moved from Peterborough to Bristol and my motor insurance went up by 66%!!!! I did all the usual site Direct Line, AA, RAC and the best quote was over £400 (for a Daewoo Leganza!!). I saw the advert so logged on and was pleasently surprised with the speed and efficiency of the site. The quote eventually came out at £285!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When i requested monthly payments this ... ...the cashback after 5 year this was a good deal. Then the problems started - as mentioned in one of the other opinions. Documents never arrived, after several phone calls I received the cover-note - two days AFTER cover was due to begin! Eventually I received all the documents and everything was fine. Prior to the renewal date this year I received the documents to renew (and immediatly went online to get quotes at other companies) this was again the ...

Advantages: 1st years premium returned if claim free/fast site/quick quotes Disadvantages: You have to stay with them claim free for 5 years
www.insure.co.uk is probably the fastest online quote anywhere, the features, design and speed of the site is excellent.
Best of all if you don't smash your car (or have any other type of claim) in 5 years they will refund you your first years premium - but there is a sligth catch - the claim means anything - even windscreen, so you have to be totally free of any claims and stay with the same company for 5 years.
Car insurance has gone through the ... ...their are more bikes on the road and less are being stolen!!!
I think part of the rise comes from insurers having to pay nhs costs but alot of it comes from bogus claims - my sister in law tapped the back end of a car about 6 months ago - there was hardly any damage and the woman claimed she had whiplash (the same woman who came out of the car straight away with no injuries) both cars had been going around 4 to 5 mph!
Well with dishonest greedy ...

Advantages: None, very innaficient in my opinion! Disadvantages: Rather expensive, bad service, not a sypathetic company.
...that I decided to approach INSURE.CO.UK for a quote....what a disaster! Not only did I have to wait quite a long time to gain entry to their telephone hot line, but when i did, i was still met with unforseen delays, while the opperator dealt with what should have been a simple application.
Sure like any other Insurance Co......INSURE.CO.UK took all the nescessary details and came up with their quote.
Like most drivers theese days...I have a 'blemished ... ...prouder than INSURE.CO.UK ...it seems. For their quote was out of this world and this is despite their advertised claims.
I must say I was shocked.....I know that in their adverts...their representitive appears to talk out of the side of his mouth (NO.... DO NOT ADJUST YOUR SETS!), but on this occasion, it would seem that they were talking out of a different orrafice! ...

Advantages: Very Quick Disadvantages: Internet Quote is deceiving
I am insured with GirlMotor.com which was done through insure.co.uk. However i was doing a project on Cars and how much it costs to run them when i was looking for insurance for my own car. I was looking on the internet and getting quotes from as many insurers as i can and the internet quotes were very very high except from a couple. Silly me put my phone number on the forms and i was inundated with phonecalls from the companies asking if i would ... ...some of them were absolutely ridiculous prices. The most was £3500!!! How steep is that for a 1.4 Clio for a female.
When Girl Motor rang and told me the quote it was still very steep at £1700! When i said i couldn't afford it they asked me to hold and came back and said they do it for £900, this was still too much and when i told her that she put me on hold again and cameback and said they would do it for £675!! This was only third party fire and ...

Insurance.co.uk. is a new comparison site which focuses only on insurance and has started our by concentrating on motor and motorbike comparison.
I've used comparison sites for some time and think this one is the best for the following reasons :
- they have a competitive panel with a good mix of major brands and smaller players
- what you see is what you get in terms of price. In my experience the prices you see on the insurance.co.uk. web site are the same as those which you get when you click through to the insurer's site. I've had really bad experiences with this at other comparison sites.
- they have invested in research amongst the customers of many of their insurers to find out how good or bad the service is, and given it a star rating. this is so important because you buy insurance for when things go wrong, but how else can ...
Advantages: Covers your mobile against loss and water damage Disadvantages: Has a £25 excess for theft and £50 for loss
When looking for mobile phone insurance it can be a bit of a minefield. The big names like Orange, O2 and Vodaphone all can supply insurance when you purchase a phone and other lesser known companies also arrange insurance.
The big players have quite a limited policy, so I found whilst doing my research so I looked at the mobile phone insurance specialists.
The two main mobile phone insurers I found were CUSC and insure-your-mobile.
The policy with CUSC was cheaper at £3.45 per month, but the main thing I wanted to be covered is excluded. CUSC do not cover accidental loss (something quite easily done with a mobile phone)CUSC have a £25 excess on their policy, as do insure-your-mobile for theft claims.
Because I thought the policy was a little limited I looked at www.insure-your-mobile.co.uk - The monthly premium is £5 ...
I had never bought travel insurance before, never mind online, and so I really did not know what to expect. I had some quotes from travel agents, as part of a package holiday, but other people had warned me that there were much cheaper options available. I also wanted insurance that would arrive quickly as I was going on the holiday within the next 10 days.
RapidInsure.co.uk lived up to its name. It is extremely easy to use and navigate, and it only takes a couple of clicks to get a quote and process payment. All the information on the site is clearly laid out. Details are given of relevant contact numbers, how to make a claim, the 24 hour emergency medical line, and the levels of cover provided. I found the cover to be good- the main thing I wanted was cancellation insurance as well as medical, and this was provided. hThe company is ...
