Manufacturer's product description
USB Digital Media Reader, compatible with CompactFlash (Type I and II), Smartmedia, MutiMedia Cards, Secure Digital Cards, Sony Memory Stick and IBM Micro-Drives.
Advantages: Simple and functional Disadvantages: No indications of which drive is which, no XD-card support
...I have Compact Flash and SD memory cards at home, which I use in a digital camera, in a mobile phone and as removable storage for my work. There are many drives like the PQI that handle several flash memory types. Among multi-format drives, 6-in-1 is not many, but it covers the most popular formats:
SD/MMC, CompactFlash type I and II, Microdrives, Memory Stick and Smart Media. The only real omission in my view is the XD card format, used for a small number of digital cameras. As I don't need XD and don't know anyone who does, this was not a problem for me.
The drive was £8.99 from Ebuyer in April and I think that price has fallen since. It was cheaper than the popular brands at the time. This is a USB 2.0 device, meaning that it can transfer data much more quickly between the memory cards and your PC (or Apple Mac). My...

Advantages: No more messing with cables! Disadvantages: Could be tricky to set up initially.
...to swapping cables around each time. It would also mean that people wouldn't need to bring their cameras and cables each time they wanted anything done.
I ended up buying an internal (internal meaning that it sits in your PC such as your CD-ROM or floppy drive) model from Scan.co.uk (Item number LN4373) purely because it was on offer, and my friend was also placing an order at that time, thus cutting down on P&P which is often quite high when shipping to Northern Ireland. It was marketed as Scan's own card reader, but there's nothing on the box to suggest that it is (and in fact searching the internet would suggest otherwise).
My choice was a 6-in-1 card reader and can take 6 different types of memory card. There are others out there which can take 8 different types, but this one deals with the main ones which you would probably use.
I...

Advantages: Size Disadvantages: Easy to lose or mislay
...I bought one of the 128 MB storage drives and have had difficulty filling 20% of it with normal day-to-day documents etc. However, I recently mislaid it and my better half found it in the washing machine after a 40 degree was and double spin cycle. The thing worked as soon as it came out of the washing machine (and it smelt nice too!). I couldn't imagine another product survivng like this. I can only report that this product has obviously been designed for twits like me who leave their usb devices in shirt pockets in mind and anyone who needs one of these beauties should opt for an integral one as the build quality (and waterproofing) is of an exceptionally high standard....

I bought this memory stick recently from Currys at £27.99, which I think was fair. I was shown 3 memory sticks with 1GB of memory. One for £29.99 with a docking station and one for £24.99 which looked, in a word, crap.
Although this memory stick may more

When i first seen this product i was the proud owner of a 1GB USB pen drive which I thought was fantastic until I seen this one. 16GB is more than enough to store a few movies, some music, pictures and other documents. They don't call it a flash drive... more
