...I bought the Sandisk Ultra II 4GB card after purchasing my new 14.6mp camera, which produces RAW files of around 12-14mb! I clearly needed an upgrade because my older 2GB SD cards could only store 70 photos. I wanted a card that would combine speed, capacity, and value for money - and so I landed at the Class4 Sandisk SDHC Ultra II 4GB card. I've had experience with Sandisk before, and wanted to stick with them especially after I found out that this card has a lifetime limited warranty, and has been tested to be compatible with a large range of high-end digital cameras.
The Sandisk Ultra II SDHC4GB card (Which I will now refer to as "The card" to save any confusion), has read speeds of 10mb/sec, and write speeds of 9mb/sec, producing an excellent performance on my camera.

Advantages: Wide range of uses in camera memory, pda memory and nav systems. Disadvantages: Not a lot of info on the various differences !

* Manufacturer :
This is a card from Integral, which is a product of a company called Just Rams plc.with offices in London and France.
The actual card I have is manufactured in Japan, and was purchased in Maplin.
The company deals in all kinds of memory card and have several varieties of SD card on offer.
^ Sizes :
The firm can supply sizes from 16 mb to 1 Gb, though this one comes in the top half of the list at 256 mb.
All sd cards are the same physical size - among the smallest of the digital memory cards used in cameras and such like.Roughly 3 cms x 2 cms - means it is just a fraction bigger than a first class stamp.
Recently there has been an even smaller SD card introduced, for phones etc.
* Speeds :
For cameras, speed is often not really an issue...

...As Sandisk are one of the most competetive distributors and producers of memort cards, its no suprise that this product meets all their high requirements for a successful device. It's 6gb space allows an integrated format for media items to be stored. The card works an almost all new(ish) mobile phones and can be inserted into certain printers for quick and easy printing capabilities. As well as instructions, the card comes with a small plastic case for safe and convenient storage. All in all, a well rounded device for a very nice price! Last but not least, make sure you knowe that the device does not have pre-registered usb connectivity. You may have to pay more money for an adequate device to upgrade your memory cards....

Bought this from Dixons, it had come down from £118 to just £59, has 512mb of internal memory and the advertisement informs us it will hold upto 160 tracks.
