Transfer of data is nice and easy thanks to the USB 2.0 connectivity - I've seen me transfer an issue of my website at www.citycycling.co.uk onto this flash drive in less than a minute, including multiple large images, and a large pdf file.
I've been using this for about a year now, and it has never (touch wood) lost or corrupted any data it is holding - put simply, everything gets exactly where it needs to be in one piece. This is helped by the drive feeling sturdy and well put together. It normally lives at the bottom of my cycling bag where it gets knocked about frequently, and only now is the casing showing any sign of wear at all.
I've also used this drive with about 4 different computers, and every single one recognised this as a drive with hardly a hesitation - it couldn't be easier to use.
Any problems? A couple of minor things stop this being five stars.
Firstly it's quite a bulky unit. 3 x 1 x 0.5 inches, although this means it sits nicely in your hand if you're carrying it. The bulk can be a problem, however, if your USB ports are quite close together, and the USB socket sits low in the unit, meaning it can only really be mounted in the top port, otherwise you won't fit anything above it.
Also, the little switch to lock the drive to make it write-protected is a bit fiddly (though again this maybe isn't a bad thing as it makes it difficult to flick it by mistake).
The last problem is really the price. Fortunately I got this from work for nothing, but having to pay around £15, when other drives can be had for half the price, makes it a bit of a steep purchase. But then, you know you're getting something that works and will continue to work...
Hmmmm. Turns out you can write quite a lot about memory sticks....
Advantages: great design, sturdy, nice transfer speed Disadvantages: looks a little bit big
The Integral4GBUSB memory stick is certainly a force to be reckoned with and can certainly hold it's own when competing against some of the bigger brands on the market such as Sony, Belkin and SanDisk. The brand Integral is by no means a common home brand but it is certainly more sturdy and reliable than my last two Belkin USB memory sticks.
The five main things most people are looking for in a USB memory stick are : Efficiency - speed of the data transfer
Capacity - how much memory
Design - the appeal
Brand - well known, reputable
Price - how cheap you can get it
I am more than happy to say that you need not look no further, this marvellous USB has it all.
Most USB's on the market are pretty appealing to the eye so this IntegralUSB is no diffrent ...
Advantages: Fast, good value, lightweight, large storage capacity, robust and convenient. Disadvantages: Not as slimline as other models
The integral4GB memory stick provides a fast and reliable way of transferring and storing data. It is ideal for transferring large files such as software, media and music between computers.
The design is robust so can withstand being dropped and also very lightweight and small so it is ideal for attaching to a keyring or similar.
You simply plug the device into an available usb port on your computer which will detect it automatically. There is no requirements to upload any software in order to use this item.
"Integral" are one of the few manufacturers who offer a large amount of storage (up to 8GB) at a very reasonable price and I cannot see any disadvantage in their items other than it is maybe not as slimline as other similar items.
Overall a very good buy. ...
Advantages: robust and always handy Disadvantages: no password protection
drive will appear as an extra drive letter e.g 'D' or will say ?removable drive? - It's as easy as copying from your hard-disk to a floppy or ZIP drive.)
? Insert the USBFlashDrive into another PC. Your files are instantly available for use.
Because this little device is always with me (I never go anywhere without my keys) it is always ready to be used and it is just so convenient.
The 2GB is under £10 and the 4GB is around £20 which isn?t much to pay for a device you aren?t going to loose easily ...
