I've had the personal pleasure of working with 3 celerons (2 different models) since venturing into the world of PC's.

A slot 1 333mhz was my first encounter and the first processor I ever overclocked. When I decided the time was growing near for an upgrade, I decided to dabble in the mysterious world of overclocking before binning the 333. "333's just dont overclock, you're wasting your time!", that's what people told me. I popped mine onto an ABit BE6-II mobo and started playing with the settings, 475mhz and stable with only a single additional fan added to keep it cool - I was grinning like a freak! The processor is now in my second machine and although well past retirement age, is still performing well.

Next up I bought the Celeron II 633mhz fc-pga. It had cost me a pretty penny at the time so I'd made my mind up not to overclock it for a good few months. That decision was broken half an hour after installing it. It's still in my main machine and running at 855mhz, though this one seemed to need a lot more work to keep it stable. A golden orb heatsink/fan and some thermal paste aswell as extra case fans.

A second 633 was purchased for a family member, the intel supplied heatsink was used and the machine has been running well now for approximately 6 months.

I'm now looking at the new 800mhz celeron, a friend is running one of these at a gig, that magic number is very tempting, especially when the price is now so low. I've yet to see a celeron that wouldnt achieve some degree of overclockability, so why bother paying the extra for a bigger processor? Just go for the cheaper celeron and overclock it!
