Manufacturer's product description
The Intel Pentium M processor is based on a high performance, low power micro-architecture and includes several innovative features like an advanced branch prediction and data prefetching, Streaming SIMD Extensions 2 support, Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology support, Intel MMX media enhancement technology support and advanced thermal monitoring capabilities. The Intel Pentium M processor is the next step towards achieving high mobile performance at very low power. This exciting new processor supports Enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology at multiple operating points instead of two points support on existing processors. Real-time dynamic switching of the voltage and frequency between multiple performance modes is based on CPU demand. This occurs by switching the bus ratios, core operating voltage, and core processor speeds without resetting the system. Multiple Enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology operating points enable optimal performance at the lowest power.

...I got this laptop at a bargain £300, I think it is a very good laptop and would recommend to anyone. I upgraded my memory to 1.2gb it runs pretty quick and play some half decent games and all videos with the right codecs installed. Plus it can burn discs including Dual Layer.
Quality Great Lapop. Wireless Range Very Good. The computer comes in a stylish sliver finish on the monitor lid and the interior around the keys and touchpad. The keyboard is black and the back of and outlining of the LCD monitor and laptop is as well. The memory is upgradable to 2.GB of ram. Graphics (128 Mb Ati Radeon Xpress 200M Series) and sound (SoundMax intergrated audio) are onboard sounds great and looks fantastic. High quality microphone built for talking on things like skype, AOL instant messanger and Yahoo instant messanger.

...Following on from my last two Acer laptops, when my mother wanted a budget laptop to buy, Acer was one of the names that immediately sprang to mind.
Fortunately that week Comet had a large advert in the newspapers that meant she could buy this model for only £299. One quick car journey later and the credit card was handed over and a shiny new cardboard box containing the Travelmate 2414WLMi was given back in exchange.

I have now had this laptop for a year, it cost me £599, and the spec at the time was adequate for all my needs. I am in full time education and decided that a laptop was more preferable to my needs and was just as good as a desktop, apart from less space.
I have used this laptop for word and powerpoint documents...
