Intel updates its Core 2 Duo line with the "Wolfdale" codename, now known as the E8xxx series. It features higher bus speed of 1333MHz (to remind you, the E6xxx series has 1066MHz and the E4xxx series has 800MHz), 6MB of L2 cache (compared to 4MB of E6xxx and 2MB of E4xxx), 64-bit computing ... Advantages: very overclockable, pretty good at stock speed Disadvantages: needs better cooling and other components to get full overclocking potential

The E8200 is the lowest offering from the series and it features a 2.66 Ghz of clock speed. If you plan ... ...overclocked to 3.2 GHz on stock cooling (assuming you have a good motherboard and RAM), some batches are able to run up to 3.6-4Ghz. Overclocked to 3.2 GHz, I found that it's 10-30% faster and more responsive than an overclocked E4300 (o/c'ed to 3.2 GHz). I'm sorry I can't post detail numbers here.
Basically it offers a good mid-range performance in stock speed. It offers a good upgrade from older CPUs such as Pentium, Celeron, Athlon64 series ... more

The E8200 is the lowest offering from the series and it features a 2.66 Ghz of clock speed. If you plan to overclocking, this is where it shines. E8200 are easily overclocked to 3.2 GHz on stock cooling (assuming you have a good motherboard and RAM), some batches are able to run up to 3.6-4Ghz. Basically it offers a good mid-range performance in stock speed. It offers a good upgrade from older CPUs such as Pentium, Celeron, Athlon64 series or even the E2xxx series. E4xxx and E6xxx series owner will not get a good performance upgrade from this. Get a quad-core instead, or wait for their new "Core i7" line.
Advantages: fast, reliable, great support line. Disadvantages: Usually unwaned software come pre installed, but can be removed easily
The hp dc5800 is a brilliant consumer product,
i currently work for a computer firm and we have had quite a few HP deskyop PCs brought in and installed for our clients.
The Hp desktops are very reliable and speedy machines, they tend to come complete with manufacturer software such as:-
- Roxio CD/DVD creator
- HP system software manager
- HP protest tools security software
The hp software is not really needed but the roxio cd/dvd creatpr is very useful.
This PC will be perfect for business use, and possibly a decent gaming machine.
Samll review on the installed hardware
