Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 / 3.16 GHz *** This is my favorite processor and I love to have this in my one of the PC at home due to its great performance and speed. Some processors are really very affordable and trustable with long run capacity and features to provide similar kind of performance as new one. This processor also a kind of processor which can give us reliable performance with its advanced features and speed. *** Core2 duo family from Intel is very popular and most of the desktop PCs and notebooks have this one as first priority. We haven't seen quad core processor in any notebook and ... more

Advantages Advantages Very Fast, good overclocker

Disadvantages Disadvantages Possible Temperature problem, E8400 is worth a look at

The Core 2 Duo E8500 is an extremely fast processor for the LGA 775 socket. At a stock speed of 3.16 Ghz, it is already fast enough to accomedate most user's need, but if people want to push it further, then thats not a problem for this. I bought the processor at the beginning of last year, and what a great purchase it was. After updating my Bios on the motherboard to support the 45nm processor, it was set and ready to go. After a while though I decided to try and overclock it, and was amazed at how well it did it. I managed to get it 4Ghz + stable with just a simple after market cooler ... more

Advantages Advantages Good for avarage pc and gamers, stable if all is updated, silent fan.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Fan can be to weak if alot of heavy processes are running.

This is the same intel Core 2 Duo i have in my PC at this very moment i'm typing this. And you know why i choose it? Because the difference between the 3.00 and the 3.16GHz was so small i decided to take this one. Why didn't i take the 3.20? Because the extra 0.04 Ghz you got was to expensive if you ask me. I think intel did a really nice job making these processors, and i'm very pleased with mine. It's fast, and very reliable, although i'm thinking about switching to a better fan, because when i run alot of heavy apps, or very heavy games, it tends to freeze from time to time. I've solved ... more

Advantages Advantages 6 Mb L2 Cache and 1333 Fsb is great

Disadvantages Disadvantages No Disadvantages found yet.

I did a lot of research and satisfied on this model for many good reasons. I checked a lot of benchmarks from cpubenchmark.net and on toms hardware before buying this processor. I bought this cpu month ago. Its very fast and stable. Core i7 and Quads are far ahead from this cpu on benchmark but they are costly. 6 Mb of cache and 1333 fsb is pretty attractive. Overclocked this beast to 4.00ghz with only 1.31 voltage. Do not overclock this cpu with stock fan. Great for gaming. Speed wise, this CPU is far better than my previous Pentium 4 2.8 GHz processor. I wanted to buy E8600 but the price of ... more
