This is the same intel Core 2 Duo i have in my PC at this very moment i'm typing this. And you know why i choose it? Because the difference between the 3.00 and the 3.16GHz was so small i decided to take this one. Why didn't i take the 3.20? Because the extra 0.04 Ghz you got was to expensive if you ask me.
I think intel did a really nice job making these processors, and i'm very pleased with mine. It's fast, and very reliable, although i'm thinking about switching to a better fan, because when i run alot of heavy apps, or very heavy games, it tends to freeze from time to time. I've solved that mostly by updating my system, but still i'm not sertain how it will last in the future.
Overall, my opinion is that if you do not need a Quad core, but you do want alot of GHz, go for the Intel Core 2 Duo. It's a good price, for alot of GHz.
