Installed is an IntelT55001.66Ghz Dual-Core CPU with a FSB of 667Mhz. Level 2 cache is 2Mb.
I was a little concerned when going for this as my other PC was 2Ghz Dual-Core. I must say that I have been very pleasantly surprised.
I have not noticed any significant difference between the two despite the downgrade. The CPU provides a very stable environment and seems to cope with anything you throw at it. The dual core really comes into its own when running multiple applications.
The big benefit I have found is when running a scheduled virus scan in the background. The dual core allows the laptop to simply get on with running other applications without slowing them down.
To give it its correct title, the CPU is a "core-2-Duo". This type of CPU is better for anyone wanting to delve...

...This intel dual coreprocessor with 2.33Ghz speed (total speed of 4.6Ghz) with a 4MB Cache can handle an awful lot of demanding programs runnning at once, obviously it has its limits, but for the price its a very good processor. This processor is also compatable with 64 bit computing.
It has an LGA775 Socket which is compatable with most of the new motherboards if you are looking to upgrade or build your own pc. If you are looking to buy a processor i would highly recommend this one or several similar ones, but you need to have IT experience and know what you are doing before paying out for one of these. It comes with a 3 year limited warrenty so it is really set to last....
