We initially invited three companies to quote for our new kitchen -Magnet, Moben and a local independent company. The quotes were all quite similar and we chose Magnet as they seemed the most enthusiastic, adaptable and professional. We love our new Magnet kitchen and overall our experience was good mainly thanks to the excellent fitters who sorted all the inevitable hiccups on a big job with ease and professionalism. Sadly, service from our designer did leave quite a lot to be desired and got worse as time went on. He gave both the fitters and granite people incorrect plans so definitely be on site yourself when the templators to do the templating, Magnet actually tried to get us to pay an extra £150 for the granite because of a mistake their designer had made when ordering it. We naturally said that was down to them and refused. The designer also failed to order some necessary parts when he should have which caused quite a lot of delay and aggravation. Three months later I'm still chasing the designer for my promised nectar points on the granite. One thing that should have been explained better was that whilst we waited for the granite (about 3 weeks or so in our case) we had no work surfaces- just open top carcasses. When the designer had explained the unavoidable delay between templating and fitting the surfaces he correctly pointed out that the units would be usable but failed to mention the majority of carcasses have no tops. When pressed they did come up with one piece of laminate that was about to go in a skip but as we were spending something in the region of £18000 we think they should have done better than that. The delivery went extremely smoothly and the 'Full Circle' system does work well with lots of contact and follow up. The installation was excellent and worth every penny. Magnet was helpful in putting us in touch with gas people who laid on new services and provided all the official paperwork needed nowadays. We cannot understand people complaining about the quality of the product. It is as you see it in the showroom. If you don't like it don't buy it. Our new kitchen really works for us and we are very proud of it. Whilst we can't say our experience was faultless, at the end of the day we couldn't be happier with the result.
