Advantages: handle multiple tasks at same time and doesnt slow pc. Disadvantages: potentially waste of money
...the latest processor from intel, the new intelcore2quad is the most powerful processor available for the average home pc. The 2.4GHzprocessor is more than enough for everyday tasks on your pc. This is perfect if you do hardcore gaming, video editing etc or both! The four cores allow you to simultaneously do alot of tasks on the pc and it will not slow down your pc. As more and more software for pc's need a lot of processing power, this processor is the most up to date and the most powerful as yet. The downside to getting this would be that as computing power of computers are increasing faster and faster with respect to time, the quadcoreprocessor will no doubt be yesterdays news within a few months as intel have plans to release an octa-coreprocessor which will then outdate this one....

Advantages: There is no faster CPU - future proof Disadvantages: Price
...I was eagerly awaiting the release of the core2 architecture last year but decided to hold out to see if there would be any bargains around Christmas time. This was also the scheduled release time of the quadcore version.
As the time neared I began reading reviews and seeing what programs would utilise all 4 cores and found that the list was short. However, for an equivalent price I could have bought the X6800 chip which although has a higher core speed (2.93GHz vs 2.66GHz) only has 2cores. For future proofing I decided to get the quadcore.
Before installing this chip a bios update was needed in order for my motherboard to pick up the chip and would fail to boot without it. Windows however does not need to be reinstalled and picked up all 4 cores perfectly and went about balancing the load from my running programs around all cores...

Advantages: 4 cores, great performance, future proof Disadvantages: may require bios update, high power consumption
...Based on the same quadcore architecture as Core2 Extreme QX6700 but with lower speed, with 4 cores this processor is really recommended especially for multitasking, multimedia encoding applications, but in generally is good at everything.
The speed. The processor speed depend especially of the aplications used, in some is slower than a dual coreprocessor but in four cores optimized applications this processor rocks.
Ease of installation: A little difficult because of the socket 775, require the main board to be removed from the case, check the cooler to click with all 4 connectors.
Stability: As all Intelprocessor is great but I recommend using a good 3'rd party cooler
Power consuming. This processor uses 120w max, recommend a 500w power source.
Other:check the main board/bios if support quadprocessor before installing, you may...

This E6750 is the processor running in my computer as I write this review. In my opinion I couldn't have chosen a better CPU for what I was looking for. I was looking to spend around 200 USD for a processor and I wanted it to be very powerful so that I... more
General Overview:
The Q6600 Is a fantastic new chip by Intel. It provides the end user with an extremely powerful, cheap and multi-purpose chip. At one point this chip would cost you £500 alone. Now they have cut the price down to roughly £170 making... more
As a gamer, I needed the best processor out there. Searching around, the only real debate in this price range was whether to go for the E6850, a dual core CPU, or the Q6600, a quad core at a lower clock. After looking at many different benchmarks and... more
This is brilliant processor for its small price. In fact i like it so much, im writing this review using it right now.
It is really easily over clocked using the right mother board. Personally, i have overclocked to 2.5Ghz using a cheap Gigabyte... more
