The need for speed.

Advantages Looks Good, Feels Good, and Damn Fast.
Disadvantages Nothing at all...... YET!!!
I wanted to buy a brand new system, so i decided to go for a top of the range one, which would hopefully last me a few years.
so i opted for the PAckard Bell 5126 ITouch computer. The first thing you notice, after you have put the leads in, turned on the computer and got into windows is the quietness of it, i mean, for the speed you get, a 2.8mhz processer, i was expecting a noiser Computer, but suprisingly it is very, very quiet.
So wow i think, it looks very good, it is silent, and it is powerful, the full specification is as follows.2.8 ghz Pentium 4 Processor
512 Megabyte DDR Memory (RAM)128 Megabyte Radeon 9000 Graphics Card
120 Gigabyte HardDrive.and you can either get a 17 Monitor, or upgrade to a 15"TFT which i did, and i have to say it is well worth the extra £160 i paid for it.
but the thing that gives it something extra is the keyboard and mouse, these are infa red remote ones, and they are superb, you can sit away from the monitor and still use it, the response, seems to be impressive to, and i have now had the same batteries in for nearly 5 weeks, and yet no slow down, so this is a good feature as well, as i have not really stopped using the keyboard and mouse since i have had it.so in total i spent nearly £1500 on this computer, and i got all the above, which is awesome, the speed, the silence of it, the way it glides from doing one job to the next, easy to Multitask, no slow down on anything, it is amazing, but one thing that is a let down, is the sound card, it is a simple on board, which i think is well crap, if they just had put in a sound blaster live, or Audigy, it would have made it a awesome computer, still the sound is not really that bad, i have it playing through my speakers on my Hi-Fi and it sounds ok, but with a added surround sound, sound card and speakers, would have made the experiance of games and watching DVD's that much better.
So how does this beast handle games, well i have 2 games i have tried, the first, Championship Manager 4. Now this game is all about the memory and Processor, it does not really use the graphics card to be honest. It is a huge database game, it has over 200,000 players for it to load and use, so you can imagine that you need something speedy to play it, and i have, and it handles the game like taking candy from a baby, a piece of cake.So lets try the graphics card i think, and the memory and processor in one, so i try a game called Trainz, a model railroad simulation, this game is very huge, it needs a lot of memory, and processor speed, and also uses the graphics card, on my last computer, which was and still is not slow really, it was very slow to use, and you could not really go above a resolution of 800by640, as i only had a 64mb graphics card.
So i try it, and wow, it loads in one tenth of the time, it plays so smoothly, no jerking or jumping about like on me old computer, loading everything in it needs, using the processor and graphics and memory as it needs, so i have to say it passes this as well.
