The Intel E5200 is a tricky CPU. when overclocking its very unpredictible on how high a clock and how stable you can get it. this chip was taken from the bad end. You have a 50/50 chance of having an overclocking catalyst or a stability wreck. if you want to get great performance for your money though this should do the job nicely it makes an easy 2.7-2.8Ghz overclock. I managed to push mine to 3Ghz an unknowingly damaging it. so if you are an overclocker with this CPU be very careful and run frequent test to male sure you are completely stable because this CPU can go from fly to fry in the slightest adjustment. a safe mark I would say is 2.8Ghz. go to 3Ghz if you have the appropriate cooling and go beyond that if you feel lucky and have amazing cooling but once again be very cautious. this CPU is a bit of a power eater too so try to keep the power saving settings on you Mobo. overclocking it to 3Ghz I put my electricity bill up by £100 and that is something to be worrying about. remember this CPU is good for value but for true value you want to be avoiding major power consumption. for Gaming this CPU does incredibly well. for general home usage this CPU on stock will be more than enough. for demanding applications and HD encoding / decoding it does get a bit of lag and that was with a good 512MB Nvidia Geforce 9600 GT OCX (max overclock) . so I'd recommend this to any one who's low on money and needs performance but for anyone willing to spend a little more try going for a higher range CPU to avoid getting a bad chip.
