Although it is not the latest Intel inside, the Pentium III is VERY good. I have just bought one myself, and it has done wonders for my PC. It isn't all that cheap, but for what you get, it is well worth the money. If you are looking for value for money, then definitely get the Pentium III as the Pentium IV is good, but not as good value for money! If you are wanting to upgrade your PC, and fast without getting a new one, then i really do think getting a new mother board is the best way, as it is VERY much cheaper, and although requires a little manual labour, it IS the best way! You have probably got a sufficient monitor, and sound system, so what is the point in getting a WHOLE new PC? Really, i must stress, that getting a new motherboard is the best way! Anyway, if you are looking for top of the range and haven't got all that much to spend, then definitely choose the Pentium III as it is BRILLIANT, plus, just saving more money for the Pentium IV is pointless, as it has not advanced much beyond the Pentium III. The other reason you'll want the III instead of IV is that The Pentium IV is way beyond the power that we need for our PCs! So, back to the point, GET THE PENTIUM III, if you are wanting to upgrade your PC, with the best value for money! It worked for me!
