A top chip!
Review of Intel Pentium III 1.13 GHz processor by merkus77

Advantages: fast, new
Disadvantages: expensive

...I upgraded from an Intel Pentium II 450 mhz to the new Intel Pentium III 700 mhz mainly because of the upgrade offer at a low cost. I found that immediately there was a noticeable difference and just the way in which my computer carried out every day tasks like opening programs and the likes seemed to fly through as if my old chip was carrying 4 suitcases with it on it's chores! I find no problems at all with it and I would seriously recommend it to anyone after a high speed processor with lightning speed and good capabilities.... Read review

You just have to do it...
Review of Intel Pentium III 1.13 GHz processor by Screechmond

Advantages: Faster all round
Disadvantages:

...The Intel Pentium III 800 MHz simply takes hardware to the next stage. After upgrading from my PII 350 MHz I found not only did Windows 98 and other products 'start' and run faster, but the 3D graphics on games such as Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament were improved significantly (without the upgrade of the 3D Card). The internet also operated faster, download time seemed to increase marginally. The price shouldn't discourage either. All in all, until the P4 1500MHz (!!!) is released this is simply the best processor to be found on the market - and of course it comes with the Intel Logo...... Read review

Pentium III the truth
Review of Intel Pentium III 1.13 GHz processor by whitman_mark

Advantages: great speed, reliable
Disadvantages: cost

...The Intel Pentium Processors, says they have power...have they? 1.AMD and Pentiums are the same, aren’t they? I mean, they all have the same numbers, right? Not always, even though the numbers are the same, it depends on how efficiently the processor works. Personally, I believe Pentiums work best. 2.You are just saying that so that people don’t buy AMDs, right? Not at all. For instance, the is an Intel Celeron range and a Pentium III range. The extra money that makes the Pentium III more expensive is spent on developing the efficiency of the processor so that you get the very best it has to offer. Celeron is a make that is less reliable and has not been tuned to perfection even though they are still very reliable. 3.Why do you think AMDs are less reliable? I think they are reliable, but only to a certain extent... Read review
