Advantages: very fast, reliable Disadvantages: pricey, need to have IT knowledge
...This dual 2GHZ core processor with combined speed of 4Ghz and a 4Mb Cache makes a very fast pc and will cope easily with many demanding programs running at once. There are probably better deals for the same or better processors, but you are paying for the quality, many dont have a high 4Mb cache. This would be most recommend for IT technicians or people who know what they are doing.
The main let down of this is the variation in the price, while this may be good, you dont want to be paying too much when you can get a compute just as good for the same high price or cheaper. But as i said before, if you can get a good deal, and know what your talking about, this is most recommended...

Advantages: Established, good value, stable, large L2 cache Disadvantages: Not the cheapest nor the best performing
...This processor, based on the highly successful Pentium III core is well established in servers - the large (up to 2mb) L2 cache allows good server performance for multiple users. It can be used in dual or quad array, and currently is available in speeds of up to 800mhz. New competitors in the field, including P4 Xeon and AMD MP Athlon 'Palomino' may be ahead in terms of performance, but currently P4 Xeons cost the earth, and P4 is doubted to be much better performers than PIII anyway. The AMDs are currently unreleased to the market, therefore leaving the PIII to take up the slack in small server markets. Its core enhances over the PII Xeon make it a more viable option, and price drops to keep the PIII competitive with AMD and P4 make it economically sensible. The PIII's stability (key feature for a server) plays an important role...

This is a Quad-Core? Review ofIntel Quad-Core Xeon E5320 / 1.86 GHzprocessorby

Advantages: Cheap upgrade with great cache memory Disadvantages: not the fastest or best, most Core 2's are much better
...This is an okay machine that fails to ignite or excite you with its performance. I am still amazed that a quad-core can be only 1.86 GHz in memory. I mean so many good Core 2 Duos pack over 2 Gigs its a wonder you get this minnow.
The E5320 has good bus speed of 1066 MHz and large cache memory of 8mb, performing well when doing work-related activities. However if you are after an entertainment machine to watch movies, play games or download stuff this is not the machine for you. But then this is an upgrade and is meant to replace older, slower machines with a new infrastructure. It doesn't work for me, since its a low-end 64-bit operator, but if you need a cheap upgrade to new technology then this will be a good choice for you....
