This is a really nice compact (205x38x105mm) and light DAB radio. It comes in a variety of colours - red, black, purple, silver or blue and looks great. The 3 watt rms speaker gives out a decent sound and also decent volume for a radio of this size. However, the sound is maybe a little on the trebley side and there is no bass control. Its still a pretty decent audio experience though for your average listening on a day out ,or while taking a shower, lying in bed (although dont expect it to wake you up as it doesn't have an alarm feature), or cooking the dinner. It would be unfair anyway to expect top of the range audio from a very portable DAB radio costing less than 40 quid.
It has all the usual visual display features you would expect from a DAB radio and the tuning is done via a rotary tuning dial. The volume control is at the side of the unit. You can also store up to 10 digital stations and also 10 fm stations as presets. This is all done using buttons on the front of the unit. I would say for ease of use its very user friendly.
The radio takes 4 AA batteries with up to 10 hours battery life. Not a problem if you are using rechargeables as you can get 7 or 8 hours out of it before you need to recharge. Alkalines will do about 10 hours. It also comes with a mains lead as well.
I did find that the radio is a little wobbly if you knock it by mistake it will rock a bit. Havent managed to completely knock it over myself but its something Ive noticed about it.
The beauty of this radio though is its very light and very portable, unlike many of the more bulky DAB radios on the market. You can easily carry it with you if you are going to the beach etc and because it's plastic it's a decent hard wearing piece of kit. So if you are going to use it in the garden, on a day out, in the bathroom, bedroom or kitchen it's well worth your money.
