How does it compare to the artist's other releases

"a great mixture of great songs"

International velvet is a very different sort of album. The music that is contained on it very interestingly different. If you liked the singles released from it then you will find that the rest of the album is really quite different.

Mulder and Scully is the first track on the album which is really quite a heavy sort of track with strange lyrics and is based on a strange experience that Kerys (not sure of the spelling) experinced and think that if anybody could get to the bottom of it then Mulder and Scully definitely could.

Game on is a very intesting song in that is very instrumentally mellow. It contains very good lyrics and should be liked by all who by it. It has a good bass and is a very "nice" song.

I am the mob returns back to the very heavy sort of catatonia that everybody loves. The is a lot of words to it that give the song a good feeling. This song depends heavily on the drums and if any body tries to do this song live it would definitely be a struggle.

Road Rage is another single released from the album and is also very heavy and is funnily enough about Road Rage and I won’t bother to go into any detail because ia ma sure that you have heard it in some bar playing somewhere.

Johnny Come Lately is a very good song in that the lyrics are very moving and I am sure will again be enjoyed by all.

Goldfish and Paracetamol is just really strange and doesn’t have any real meaning to it at all. I think that is just about a well painfull hangover.

International Velvet is a great song because the majority of it is sung in Welsh which is a mouthfull and really hard to sing along to.

Why I can’t stand one night stands is another strange song but is a good one to sing along to.

Part of the furniture is a hard song to say a lot about as it doesn’t contain many lyrics but is just nice and mellow and starts to bring the album to a close.

Don’t need the sunshine is good because it seems to bring the album back to life with a guitar intro. It is very strong lyrically. It contains a very good moral aswell, that is if you have to you just cope and get on with things even when life is kicking you in the teeth.

Strange glue is the last but one song and I believe was released as a single but I don’t think it did very well.

And finally we have My selfish Gene which brings a very, very mellow close to the album with a lot of piano and lyrics.

So all in all I suggest that you buy this if you liked the singles an even if you didn’t then I am still sure there is at least three or four tracks of the 12 that anybody else would like.
