Pocket Sized Web Guide.
Advantages: A great guide to the internet
Disadvantages: American bias
The Internet and World Wide Web (Rough Guide) is basically a pocket sized book, that teaches you the basics of web site navigation. The book starts off by teaching you the basics. It tells you how to get connected, how to send emails, how to join a mail list. It even shows you how to use FTP programs, and chat rooms. The book then goes on to more exciting things like newsgroups and websites. The guide to websites is the best feature in the book. ...
...the addresses of ISP's and internet cafes. In my opinion the book is a great handy guide, for finding websites. I saw this book in my local charity shop for only 20p, so I feel like I got a real bargain. The full retail price is £5, which is still a bargain. This book would suit a beginner perfectly. There are lots of other books in the rough guide series, to find out more check out their website at. www.roughguides.com ...
