Century FM Rocks my Radio!! Advantages: Fab music from 80's and 90's - fun and friendly DJ's Disadvantages: Based in The North West ..so many things not relevant if not your area I actually found Century by accident after mistuning my radio in and it's never been re-tuned since! I mainly listen to the radio from lunchtime, through the afternoon and again on Sundays, so I am a bit biased towards Jude and Tony Wrighton as that is their time slots ..... but I have listened at other times too so I know what I am talking about!! Lunchtime with Jude is just fab, she makes you feel like she's your mate! She plays the best tunes, ... ...stuff thrown in. Jude's "thing" is the eight 80's at 2, where she plays 8 tunes from the 80's and you have to guess what links them. ( I am hopeless, never ever get the links!) This review focuses on one aspect of their coverage - the live SPL commentary. -The setup: At each match there are two commentators - one "professional" and one player or ex-player. HIP and EDGY Advantages: Very cool!! Disadvantages: Its only on 24 hours a day!! Looking for a fresh young radio station to listen to while you write your CIAO opinions? Then you really ought to check out what the Australian Broadcasting Corporation has to offer on its youth network "TRIPLE J". I have been listening to this station for a few years now and I am rapt! It is a fresh, no holds barred type station with a real edge to it. The music selections are up to date, edgy, uncensored and aimed firmly at a youth audience. Mummy, am I Ugly Advantages: great competitions, excellent website Disadvantages: too much talk sometimes The answer to the above question is an (almost) resounding NO thanks to Virgin Radio's Pete and Geoff on their Breakfast Show! I emailed in a REALLY BAD photo of myself to be judged by the morning crew and, frankly, hoped never to hear about it again. Such are the laws of nature that, sure enough, I received a phone call asking if I would mind being on the show the following morning. Being a game girl I agreed and then spent the entire night in a ... ...10 minutes before I was due on air I received another call making sure I was still ok about it all and to reassure me that I'd be fine despite my nerves.
