Introduction to Psychology - Rita L. Atkinson

I bought this book whilst doing Access to Social Studies and it has become an invaluable resource for me as I am still using this in the first year of my degree. Atkinson makes psychology easier to understand through providing clear definitions, illustrations and diagrams. (I find the personality disorder diagnosis and description table particularly insightful and helpful). Having just started a Psychology degree at Edinburgh University I've been overwhelmed by reading lists for this and my outside subjects 'thinking I'll never be able to read all that!'. However, one of my tutors highly recommended this textbook saying it would cover most of the course if not all. Having bought the textbook I have discovered my tutor was completely correct, this book contains a huge body of knowledge which is more than enough to get you through at least your first year of university.
