Being a fan of the FPS genre I was looking forward to Prey, especially having heard the praise about it's graphics. Unfortunately it turned out to be a disappointment.
You take on the role of Cherokee mechanic Tommy. Whilst in his girlfriend's bar aliens attack and you are abducted along with your girlfriend and grandfather. You manage to break free from the alien device holding you and set off to free your grandfather and girlfriend. Unfortunately almost immediately you see your grandfather die and his spirit grants you powers.
Throughout the game you can switch between the "real" world and the spirit world. Entering the spirit world enables you to pass through bars etc. One of the most annoying aspects of the game occurs when your character dies. When you die you are transported to the spirit world, you must then use your bow ...

Advantages: Great looking game Disadvantages: To easy and fast to complete
PREY
"Prey" has been a highly anticipated title from a combination effort of Human Head, 3D Realms, and Venom Games, offering many unique features than what a normal FPS could provide. In this aspect, the game is definitely not a disappointment, combining "real" portals, variable gravity, and other aspects into a strong engine for other games to work from, and providing a good mix of FPS and puzzling elements. However, the largest failing of Prey may be it's rather short playtime, though this is likely a result of the general trend of modern games rather than Prey's developers.
