Iomega eGo - stylish, affordable and shock resistant

Advantages: Good looking, small, lightweight, additional software included, can be dropped...
Disadvantages: Not the fastest in terms of file transfer

Iomega eGo Portable Hard Drive, model 34615 I bought my Iomega eGo hard drive a few months ago. My laptop has only 40GB hard drive capacity and almost all of it was already used, which made it slower and slower and impossible to run some programs, updates or applications. I decided to buy a portable hard drive, easy to carry but most of all capable of storing all the content of my computer as well as many more files for the future. I had been searching for the ?perfect? portable drive for months and had only limited my choice to a few brands, when my friend (who knows much more about computers than myself) said: ?there are no good or bad portable hard drives among the affordable ones, so just choose the one that looks most sexy?. And so I did. Iomega drive not only looked good but also had a few interesting features and was ...

Iomega eGo's nice portable harddisk

Advantages: in my review
Disadvantages: in my review

Iomega has just introduced their newsest product for portable harddisk, especially Iomega eGo Encrypt. This product is designed uniquely, and me myself like it. Besides, it is also very strong, because of Drop Guard Xtreme. It's still safe for it to fall from 2 metres high. So, it really fit me, since i am very careless. This unique device is completed with encryption hardware, it is 128 bit AES ( Advanced Encryption Standard), to make the data saved more securely. It's color is dominated with silver colour, and it's memory is 320 GB. It's a very huge space i think. This nice design seems to be used many times by Iomega, since they launced another eGo with that nice design too, namely Iomega eGo BlackBelt. ...

Super DVD Iomega (16X) disappointment

Advantages: You can write DVDs of all formats
Disadvantages: Slow , bulky

i bought this drive last july (2005) for about £40 on sale at amazon.co.uk. i was in the market for an external dvd writer anyway and this seemed like a bargin. Anyway, it wasn't. Both the Iomega website and box give the impression that this is a super fast dvd writer drive, but it isn't. It can take up to 2 and a half hours to write a 700mb movie file to disc and longer if you want to fill the 4.7gb capacity of the average disc. The software it comes with is poor, full of errors and quite a disappointment. Also it kept coming up with problems such as - no disc in drive after it scan it upon entry, cannot write DVD-R when it can and it kept confusing itself with a regular cd drive when it can to playing DVDs. Overall, i would recommend using a different dvd writer (externally) from a more reliable company such as freecom ...
