I use an external ZIP 100 Mo USB, it is a fast and reliable solution, as well for the backup.

This operation is tiresome with the tapes whose reading is with sequential access, and I must say for my needs an unsuited choice.

The reader Zip of Iomega proves to be of great utility.

I have chosen the reader Zip USB 100Mo.
