I must admit, my main reason for buying this particular cd writer was because it looks gorgeous! I wanted an external drive because my computer is new, and I didn't fancy messing around with its innards. Cheap external drives are not very common, and when it came to a choice between a big grey box and a sleek purple one, my decision was made!
The drive was very easy to set up, though I had a few problems at first (2 out of 3 cds became coasters)! Iomega have a very useful service on their website where you can instant message their technical help department. I did this after the 3rd cd, and was given lots of very complicated advice, including shutting down my antivirus software, deleting files, and going into windows config and messing about! I didn't understand any of it!
However, there is an easy answer. I simply do all my cds with the 'test and create' option, and haven't ruined one since! It takes around 40 minutes instead of 20, but saves a fortune in cds. Every one I have done since then has been perfect. My drive also came with some great cd creating software, which is dead simple to use. Great for a total computer novice.
