The Roomba robot 560 is round, 33 cm. diameter x 8 cm. high, it certainly goes under everything. There is a small docking station where the robot recharges ... ...pushed or the time and day has been programmed; in fact it is possible and very easy to programme it for different times and days of the week.
Once the robot has been programmed, at the assigned day and time after a funny short " tune " Roomba leaves the docking station and starts sweeping the floor; laminate, carpet or tiles, it does the cleaning methodically and completely; even now, after few month of using it I am still amazed ... more

I have had it for several months now and not only I don't regret to have bought it but it is so amazing that I have to write about it. The Roomba robot 560 is round, 33 cm. diameter x 8 cm. high, it certainly goes under everything. There is a small docking station where the robot recharges the battery and stays until the button to start is pushed or the time and day has been programmed; in fact it is possible and very easy to programme it for different times and days of the week. Once the robot has been programmed, at the assigned day and time after a funny short " tune " Roomba leaves the docking station and starts sweeping the floor; laminate, carpet or tiles, it does the cleaning methodically and completely; even now, after few month of using it I am still amazed to see how well it goes everywhere, it even detects where it is dirtier so that it stays longer in that spot. The Roomba 560 also comes with two sensors that act as "wall" or "light house". The sensor can be put at the base of the architrave of a door (open). The sensors have, as I have said, two functions: If it is used as a "wall"- it will not allow the robot to go over that threshold. If it is used as a "light house" it will allow the robot (after it has cleaned the first room, about 35 minutes) to go over and clean the second room.
Since there are two sensors it is possible to clean three rooms, one after the other; after the third room is cleaned the robot goes all the way back to the room where there is the docking station and docks to recharge and be ready for the next programmed day! It is really amazing.
The dust and small particles are collected in a draw in the front and is easy removable and cleanable; I usually empty it every three rooms. Underneath there are two rotating brushes that, again, are very easy to remove and I usually clean every month.
My i Robot Rooma 560 has become like a member of the family, we have even given "him" a name: Murphy, my personal cleaning Cop
Advantages: no more hoovering what else do you need. Disadvantages: few minor echnical problems but sorted out immediately by the helpline.
i was very sceptical about this product at first but was pestered to buy it by my gadget obsessed son. The price was £250 online which when compared to say a dyson is not so bad. I relented and was so glad i did. I expected something similar to one of those hand held hoovers but this was so much more. it copes wonderfully with my carpet and dog hairs from a very hairy dog. I don't have to worry about doing the vacuuming now i just leave it to roomba. ... ...into various rooms to clean up which is a bonus. Also it has made them more aware of the stuff they leave on the floor because they are worried it will damage the machine. It does need regular cleaning but it is easier to clean than it is too vacuum a room. I have had a few problems with it but rung the helpline and they have sorted it immediately, very friendly people. ...

when i first heard about a robot hoover i thought it wont work but it has changed my life.
i was recently diagnosed with athritis and i found it hard to use an upright hoover.
the 5 simple buttons which are ,power, max clean, clean,and dock.
the clever thing is it knows when it needs charge so it just drives into its dock and automaticly charges.
it has a very powerfull suction makes it beter than any dyson.
i have 2 birds so it is great for ... ...with a remote control so you can send it where you want it.
it is so small it can fit under almost any beds or sofas. something else cool is that if you but it on an ironing board and turn it on i wont fly off. i recomend it a+ ...

like that. It will immediately stop and beep for you. Our Roomba did this when he got caught in Computer cables, so is a fantastic extra with the iRobot range.
Battery Life
When you first get the Scooba, you do need to charge it a full 8 hours. After that you will only need to charge for around 4/5 hours at a time. It will work on full cleaning for around 2/3 hours, which is thoroughly cleaning around 1 room per hour. The booklet says it will do about 250 square feet or 23 square metres at a time. I am very impressed with the battery power and cannot fault it.
Price
Now as I said I paid £139.99 excluding postage and packaging. That is a lot of money but I really believe it is worth it. I bought iRobotRoomba560 in November 2007 (last year) and bought iRobot Scooba 5800 in August 2008.
