fabulous
Advantages: great Disadvantages: bit heavy - but that is what you are buying
I have to disagree with the person who was very negative about this 'iron', I can only say you simply do not iron! I have been ironing for 30 years and this is by far the best I have ever used and will continue to use, walks all over my previous normal steam irons, and it is going to be larger as it is a steam generator not an iron!! So please do not be put off by this persons neg obviously has never really done much ironing?? I have a family of ...

Should've bought a Phillips 4340 :-/
Advantages: Lightweight. Good for fiddly bits that require steam not pressing. Disadvantages: Filling is laboursome. Can't cope with tough creases.
A Comet instore promotion of £10 off meant I got this for £39.99 - WAY more than I could've paid online! :-( And I'm not impressed. It's fine for your normal clothes, but it struggles with 'hard' cottons such as you get with starchy cotton teatowels. So there's no way it can cope with tough denim or my John Lewis cotton duvet cover (more creases than an aged elephant). Temp control is a 'plasticky' slider, not as easy as a wheel.
Vertical steam: ... ...require steam shot rather than actual pressing.
Filling: easy as the cap is large - but you have to invert the iron so you need to unplug it & allow it to cool down a bit first otherwise the steam goes mental.
I had a Breville Opus Resilium Pro previously (Fantastic!) and boy do I ever regret dropping that & cracking it, as it is no longer in production. ...

A BALLERINA ON THE BOARD!!!!
Advantages: Glides over clothing with minimum effort. Disadvantages: May be a bit on the expensive side but worth paying for.
The Morphy Richards 40715 iron is really something to write home about. My reason for purchasing a new iron was because my old one was getting on a bit and starting to leak. It was, however, a Morphy Richards iron also as I really do rate the brand. I shopped around a fair bit for a decent iron that would really perform well. I normally go for low cost on most appliances but my theory, when it comes to ironing, is that for what can be such a boring ... ...cut your ironing time in half.
At the time of buying, Argos were doing £10 off on this iron which made it £39.95 - there is also an option to purchase an extended guarantee - which I didn't do. I read up what reviews I could on the internet but there are very few which is why I hope you will benefit from this one.
The specifications of this iron really do win it for you. The iron is extremely sleek to look at and, as a subtitle is called the Comfigrip ...

Philips GC 7220
Advantages: Cuts ironing time in half Disadvantages: Bulky to store
When my last iron gave out I decided to purchase a steam iron. It has been the best purchase I have made in a long time. The iron takes about 2 minutes to warm up, but once warm it does the ironing in half the time. The iron can be used without the steam for delicate items, but when ironing jeans etc the steam button can be pressed (it has a feature for it to be held down without you keeping your finger on it all the time). The steam created gets ... ...easy ironing sprays to help reduce the creases, but find I don't need it anymore.
There are a few down sides - it is rather large and bulky for storing and when it is creating the steam it is rather noisy. I usually watch TV when ironing, but find you need the volume up louder!
It also doesn't need emptying of water every time. It recommended you clean after every 10 irons if you use tap water. I use a mixture of tap water and ironing water, and ...
