Philips GC1010
Review of Philips GC1010 by
RedNaxelaster
Advantages: Plenty of settings, Very good steam system, large water capacity.
Disadvantages: Heavy, No self-cleaning so can get a little dirt build up, shorter cord.
I bought this iron a couple of years ago,and so far it's been pretty good. To start, it irons really well, and it really makes ironing so much easier than other irons that I have used, the plate-size is just right for most clothes, making ironing a lot quicker.
Also, it takes very little time to heat up, taking even more time out of ironing, and, it has a dial which you can use to set the temperature of the iron just right, as on the dial it tells ... ...cotton). The steam can be set to 5 different setting, depending on how much that you want to steam, a not so useful feature, but good anyway.
The iron can be filled with plenty of water, meaning you can do a lot of steam ironing before it runs out, but this does make it pretty heavy, which makes it hard on the arms.
The cord is a little too short, which can be annoying when ironing long clothes!
Overall, I would give this a 4/5. ...

Sweet, sweet vapours!
Review of Comfort Vaporesse Lily and Riceflower by
mummy2harry
Advantages: Lovely smell, keeps your iron free from limescale, cheap
Disadvantages: None
...pound shop that they had Comfort Vaporesse in there, I thought for just £1 it would be worth a try. It was the original type that I tried, but I wasn't overly keen on the smell so when in Sainsburys, I checked the laundry aisle and found that there is another fragrance of Vaporesse, yay!
Comfort Vaporesse is basically an ironing water which aids ironing, prevents your iron getting clogged up with limescale and helps fragrance your clothes because ... ...nicely his clothes smelt!
Comfort Vaporesse is definitely a product which has made my ironing and nicer and much more pleasant experience that it has ever been! The nice smell quickly surrounds you as your iron releases the fragranced water as steam, and it left all of my clothes lightly fragranced and very soft too. The easy pour spout prevents spillages when putting the water into the iron, and the clear bottle allows you to keep an eye on how ...

Morphy Richards 40708
Review of Morphy Richards 40708 by
SIVJEY
Advantages: Heats up very quickly
Disadvantages: Cable very thick so pulls on iron
This steam iron is very good, once the correct tempperature is set it irons out 99% of creases. It has a very short time to heat up and also is very smooth to use and is light weight allowing it to slide over clothes easily. Also if hardwater is used it can be easily cleaned with a brush knocking off the dried hard limescale. This iron is better than the other irons that can be purchased, its low price also appeals and it has been working effiecienly ...

Carried away with the steaming iron
Review of Breville IR73 by
aspebbles
Advantages: Light and easily maneouverable
Disadvantages: Some small niggles
Its the old story. When my trusty iron of five years faithful service finally packed in, it was time to buy a new one. Loathe to spend to much of my precious weekend and hard earned dosh trawling through the shops, I headed straight to my local Co-op supermarket as they usually stock a bit of kitchenware.
~~ THE BASICS
Price: around £13.99 . Appearance: mine is mid blue and white, quite large in size and nice and shiny and new! Comes well packaged ... ...instruction booklet in a variety of languages.
~~ CAN IT DO THE JOB?
My previous iron finally pakced in when little pieces of plastic holding the water tank became wedged in the side of the tank. This caused the tank to expand slightly, and as aresult, it leaked. This shorted the fuse (13 amp), and as aresult, my fridge, kettle and radio also went off.
When I removed the stray pieces of plastic, the problem seemed solved, but I increasingly found ...
