Reliable, basic steam generator
Review of Morphy Richards 42270 Jetstream Generator by richysgirl

Advantages: Light, easy to use, easy to refill, makes ironing quicker and easier.
Disadvantages: Difficult to store, tank poor shape.

...needing to be refilled, the Morphy Richards lasts me for at least an hour. With the water tank (which can't be detatched) the iron isn't particularly easy to store, I've kept the original box and return the iron to that after each use but with the box being cardboard I'm not sure that this offers a longterm solution. I've also had a bit of a problem placing the iron and tank on my ironing board. It doesn't feel all that secure so I think that at ... Read review

Powerful Steam Iron
Review of Bosch TDA8333GB Sensixx by Maxlarndison

Advantages: More steam then you can wish for
Disadvantages: None

I brought the Bosch Sensixx Comfort Power iron a few weeks ago now after mine gave up the ghost with a bang. I needed something that will be reliable and powerful, so I chose this one. ~Features~ It has the maximum power wattage which is 2600w which heats up very quickly. It has a large water container which holds up to 300ml. 3m length power cord which is very handy for me as I lack plug sockets in my home. Stainless steel scratch resistant ...
...I can happily say my customers think it is. I have never used Bosch before but am happy to say I would do again in the future so therefore I would recommend this iron. The iron comes with a full instruction manual Thank you very much for reading. ... Read review

no more burn marks on clothes
Review of Russell Hobbs 12661 Thermocolour 2400 by womanpko

Advantages: no more burn marks on clothes
Disadvantages: no automatic switch off

when my old iron died on me i sent my husband out to buy a new one think that all irons are pretty much the same. i was in for a rather nice suprise with this one no more waiting to see if the light has gone out to make sure its hot enought i just set it to the temerature i want and leave it not only does it change colour when its ready but it beeps quite loudly so i don't have to stand right there, and also means i no longer burn clothes. I've ...
...is heavy and although heavy irons might not suit everyone i prefer this. the ceramic plate means it glides wonderfully with little to no effort which is great because i have karate suits to iron all the time as my husband is an instructor. The only negative i have found with this iron is it has no automatic switch off like some i've seen around. ... Read review

Good solid iron giving effortless ironing.
Review of Morphy Richards 40705 Comfi-GRIP PRO by Pauly3

Advantages: Solid unit allowing effortless ironing
Disadvantages: Water level difficult to check

I have had a Morphy Richards iron prior to this one so you might guess that I am generally pleased with the make. I hate ironing so a good iron that makes ironing easy is important to me. I purposely looked for an iron in this price range to ensure that it would be a decent unit, and I am not dissapointed. I bought the iron on special offer from Argos. It is a good solid heavy iron, but not too heavy to use comfortably (I am only 58Kg and 5'3"). ...
...spray nossle keeping the iron surface clean. My only critisism is that the water level is hard to check due to the lilac plastic being a little too opaque to see through properly. My last Morphy Richards lasted 5 years, and this unit has a 2 year warranty with it. ... Read review

Easy ironing!!!
Review of Philips GC3126 by craggsy23

Advantages: lightweight, non drip, easy fill, easy clean, good temperatures
Disadvantages: none that I've found.

I bought myself this Phillips steam iron after my old one kept blowing the electric to the house. Slightly serious I thought it's time I got a new iron, pronto!!! I will also basically describe the problems I had with my old heavy iron and I'm sure some of you will recognise similar problems. The opening for the filler was very small and it always spilt over resulting in a puff of steam and once filled, always leaked down the handle. I had to iron ...
...the steam off once you had filled the reservoir. Apart from blowing the electrics, nothing else!!! However, my new iron is amazing. It features The opening for filling the reservoir is nice and large and has a good fitting plug so there is no leakage by filling too quickly or otherwise. UNIQUE DRIP-STOP SYSTEM which basically stops the water dripping out of the sole plate should the temperature become too low. Great for ironing more delicate fabrics. ... Read review
