Advantages: A very efficient iron with plenty of steam for those difficult items
Disadvantages: looks a bit dated - but does that matter?

I bought one of these irons a few months ago, and it's been great. The benefit of having a steam generator is huge - I'd say it halves the time taken to do the ironing, which is quite considerable if you have children. I bought a 'graded' one from an Ebay trader, but you wouldn't know to look at it - it was a lot cheaper, though, at £90! ...more steam because it can hold more water and has a big boiler, so you can zoom through the ironing. This one is well built and feels solid to use. It has a stainless steel base, so no worrying about damaging any coatings on studs etc, but it still glides well. ...£250, so I have told LauraStar they can keep it - I'm done with their machines. I strongly recomend anyone thinking about this Iron to think again. They are great when they work, but I've had 3 and they have all broken down. When you pay this much for an iron, it should last for many years! ... Read review

...appreiciate the quality of this Bosch iron. The black deign with red trim aslo gives it a unique look amoung other irons. In the past I have broken several irons easily as they've fallen from an unstable ironing board, this one has fallen many times and continues to work perfectly - a testament to its build quality and durability. I go through Irons at a rapid pace of knots and this one so far is standing up to the challenge. This has got to be the best Iron I have owned to date. It has a cushioned hand grip, making it comfortable to use even after an hour of ironing. The spray and steam buttons are quite large and the water inlet hole is big enough that you don't keep spilling any. ...You can Iron as you normally would with steam or even dry iron with this one, you can even hold the iron up right and steam vertically, great if you need to get the creases out of curtains and can't be bothered standing to iron them (a little like dry cleaning, i suppose) It has a stainless steel plate and glides across clothes really easily.
