Russell Hobbs steam glide iron
Advantages: Great value for money, easy to use, quick to iron, nice looking Disadvantages: a bit heavy
I bought this Russell Hobbs Steam glide Professional Iron which is styled in a rich purple colour way and boasts 2200 watts of power from Argos for around £21 which is great value for money. I decided to buy this iron because my old iron had stopped working after only just about a year which is my own fault for getting such as really cheap non brand iron at the time. I am not usually all that keen on ironing but since getting this attractive iron ... ...steam for easier ironing, the Russell Hobbs steam glide professional iron gives you high performance at your fingertips.
Another added bonus to this iron is that it has time saving feature which is the irons powerful vertical steaming facility, ideal for removing wrinkles from furnishing fabrics, curtains and from hanging clothes quickly and easily, without having to take them down. The fine mist water spray is perfect for dampening dry areas and ...

laura star ironing system
Advantages: works well when its working Disadvantages: does not last long
Yes having read some of the other reviews i wish i had read them before buying ours .Yes they work really well, but we have constantly had leaks from the main cylinder and now we have been told it will cost £200 for a new cylinder plus the fitting costs, not worth it . cost a lot of money and they constantly break down and the repair costs are stupid. had ours for 3 years and is now going in the bin.Would strongly advise not to entertain buying one ...

Not good!
Advantages: Very efficient when new, I was very impressed for the first few months. Disadvantages: Poor quality product, not durable, and dreadful customer service from Philips staff
...over time. I phoned Philips for advice - they confirmed that no descaling should be necessary...but tell that to the dirty brown sludge that spat out every time I tried to iron something.
So, ultimately, the iron got louder and louder (a downside of steam generators) and the performance got worse and worse, until finally, I just couldn't put up with the dripping heap of rubbish any more!
I stress that it was fab when new, but it's lack of durability, ...

... So What Is Comfort Vaporesse?
Comfort Vaporesse, quite simply is scented water you put in your iron. It claims on the bottle that it will make ironing easier as it contains fibre moisturisers that help the steam smooth away creases. It also claims to infuse your clothing with long lasting freshness and protect your iron from limescale, helping to prolong it's life. It is available in 2 varieties, original and Lilly and rice flower. I am ... ...everything, mainly saving it for bedding and my daughters clothing. Would I recommend it. YES! I have tried cheaper, own brand makes and they are very poor alternatives which I wouldn't bother with. I love Comfort Vaporesse Lilly and rice flower and will continue to buy it. ...

Steam Those Creases Away
Advantages: Level of steam does the work for you, good size water tank, vertical ironing possible Disadvantages: Large and quite heavy, can be noisy when water is transferring from tank to iron
...am a huge fan of Philips irons - I was already using a Philips GC2510 which I had only owned for about 9 months when I was given the opportunity to get the GC7220. Prior to that I had been using an ancient Philips which I only replaced because the cap keeping the water in the tank had broken - after around 15 years of faithful service. So it was a no brainer to for me really. The most obvious difference between a regular steam iron and a steam generator ... ...pack a punch. My previous Philips iron was pretty powerful with the steam but the GC7720 is something else again! To use, you have to fill the tank on the base unit with water up to the "Max" line. The steam generator comes with a filling cup and my advice is to have the steam generator in place on your ironing board and take the water to it - when the generator is full it can be quite heavy. I live in a soft water area so tap water is fine for me ...
