One spurt = one big smile
Review of Home-Tek HT 611 Garment Steamer Travel by Lunar_see

Advantages: Easy to use, excellent crease removal, lightweight
Disadvantages: None

...travel iron. Then the Home-Tek Travel Streamer Iron was thrust into my hands by a work colleague whom after hearing my moans assured me that if I took care of her precious item I could use it and return it. The Home-Tek Iron is to be blunt shaped like an old fashioned Joystick and looks nothing like an Iron or in fact a travel iron, which I must say look naff and cheap in any capacity. This iron is really lightweight and fits into my travel case ...
...decided to purchase my own. Home-Tek are not a brand I had heard of, so with my basic computer knowledge I managed to find out a little bit about the company using Google and found that they are championed by Ainsley Harriot and make an array of household good from kettles, carpet sweepers, sterilizers and irons to juicing machines, ovens and slow cookers and sell their items in 70 countries worldwide, so they are definitely a brand on the move and ... Easy ironing!!!
Review of Philips GC3126 by craggsy23

Advantages: lightweight, non drip, easy fill, easy clean, good temperatures
Disadvantages: none that I've found.

I bought myself this Phillips steam iron after my old one kept blowing the electric to the house. Slightly serious I thought it's time I got a new iron, pronto!!! I will also basically describe the problems I had with my old heavy iron and I'm sure some of you will recognise similar problems. The opening for the filler was very small and it always spilt over resulting in a puff of steam and once filled, always leaked down the handle. I had to iron ...
...the steam off once you had filled the reservoir. Apart from blowing the electrics, nothing else!!! However, my new iron is amazing. It features The opening for filling the reservoir is nice and large and has a good fitting plug so there is no leakage by filling too quickly or otherwise. UNIQUE DRIP-STOP SYSTEM which basically stops the water dripping out of the sole plate should the temperature become too low. Great for ironing more delicate fabrics. ... Read review

Philips GC1010
Review of Philips GC1010 by RedNaxelaster

Advantages: Plenty of settings, Very good steam system, large water capacity.
Disadvantages: Heavy, No self-cleaning so can get a little dirt build up, shorter cord.

I bought this iron a couple of years ago,and so far it's been pretty good. To start, it irons really well, and it really makes ironing so much easier than other irons that I have used, the plate-size is just right for most clothes, making ironing a lot quicker. Also, it takes very little time to heat up, taking even more time out of ironing, and, it has a dial which you can use to set the temperature of the iron just right, as on the dial it tells ...
...cotton). The steam can be set to 5 different setting, depending on how much that you want to steam, a not so useful feature, but good anyway. The iron can be filled with plenty of water, meaning you can do a lot of steam ironing before it runs out, but this does make it pretty heavy, which makes it hard on the arms. The cord is a little too short, which can be annoying when ironing long clothes! Overall, I would give this a 4/5. ... Read review

Philip's Ironing!
Review of Philips GC 2016 by thespurs

Advantages: Good price, operates at low temperatures
Disadvantages: None

...will last for a long time. It is made from a strong material which protects it from any damage. The brand name is also important, you can rely on Philips to produce a good product. At the end of the day it's an iron but a good one at that. ... Read review

A great Steam Generator Iron
Review of Rowenta DG940 by agmalias

Advantages: A very efficient iron with plenty of steam for those difficult items
Disadvantages: looks a bit dated - but does that matter?

I bought one of these irons a few months ago, and it's been great. The benefit of having a steam generator is huge - I'd say it halves the time taken to do the ironing, which is quite considerable if you have children. I bought a 'graded' one from an Ebay trader, but you wouldn't know to look at it - it was a lot cheaper, though, at £90! For those who don't know, a steam generator boils the water up in the base, and feeds the steam to the iron through ...
...more steam because it can hold more water and has a big boiler, so you can zoom through the ironing. This one is well built and feels solid to use. It has a stainless steel base, so no worrying about damaging any coatings on studs etc, but it still glides well. The water tank is a good size, and lets you iron for nearly an hour before it's empty.....and even then, you just remove the tank without switching the iron off, take it to the tap to fill ...
