Having just returned from what I class as a well deserved break I thought I would write about the Hotel me and my family have just returned from. I decided at the last minute really that I would book us a weekend away and began to surf the net as you do looking for not only a bargain but a nice place to stay to boot.
The place I eventually chose with the help of my fiancé was the Ramada Jarvis hotel in Brighton, I have never stayed in a hotel in Brighton before having only visited once previously and having stayed in a bed and breakfast so I cannot compare it to other hotels in the Brighton area but I can compare it to other hotels throughout Britain and indeed Europe as I am fairly well travelled.

I seem to have got out of the habit of reading just recently, I have this really bad habit of still buying books even though they are just piling up next to the bed.
So upon another visit to my local library and spotting a sale table I felt the urge to investigate, this time there was a wonderful array of books for my attention, so after much deliberation I chose three and was on my way.
One of the three books I finally chose was a book called "Isabel and Rocco" by Anna Stothard, I have never been one of these people that finds a writer they like and read every book they have ever written?.well aside from Virginia Andrews but I maintain the reason for that is I had youth on my side.
To be truthful the reason I chose this and nearly ever other book I have ever read is due entirely to the front cover, if the cover looks interesting ...
Advantages: Clean, fairly good facilities Disadvantages: Could do with a bit of a revamp.
lifts. The corridors leading to the rooms are clean but a bit dated. There is a window at each end of the corridor offering excellent views of the city on the higher floors. The corridors are well lit with automatic lighting.
We were well impressed with our room on the 8th floor on our first arrival. (After 27 hours of travelling!!!!!) Our family had upgraded us to a junior suite as it was our 25th Wedding Anniversary complete with wine and fruit. What a nice surprise!
There were 2 Queen Size beds, plenty of wardrobe/cupboard space, bedside tables and lamps a little seating area, dining table and chairs and TV which had mostly Spanish speaking programmes but we managed to get CNN. We also had a stunning view over the surrounding area. The bathroom was clean in marble with a sink area and Jacuzzi (which was dated) with shower over. Although ...
The writing is taut and effecive, and several stand alone scenes are magnificent. The conclusion, had it been published as a stand alone novella, would have been wonderful.
Nothing happens, and there is some nasty use of forced incest as a means to create a tawdry shock. Oh, and nothing happens. (*)
