Old love for Venus rising

Advantages: Superb performances. Beautiful soundtrack.
Disadvantages: Too many close-ups. A little shudder-inducing in parts.

Despite eight nominations for best actor in the Academy Award, Peter O'Toole has never actually won an Oscar. Incredible, considering some of the memorable and well-loved roles he has played during his forty+ year film career (remember Lawrence of Arabia and the Man of Le Mancha - to name but two). His latest nomination was only this year in 2007 for his role in the film Venus. Venus was not (in my opinion) one of O'Toole's finest roles or one his more endearing. Without O'Toole however, the film would have been lacking. It was O'Toole's screen presence that carried the film and made what could have been a faux-pas into something strangely absorbing and worth watching. Venus is the result of collaboration between screenwriter Hanif Kureishi and director Roger Michell. This is the second film the pair have made together ...

Dreaming of Venus.

Advantages: Great Read
Disadvantages: None

Venus of Dreams. ************ By Pamela Sargent. Introduction: ********* Not normally the 'Type' of Sci-fi I'd go for but the blurb interested me and so I was hooked. An Epic time spanning novel about Terraforming Venus. Synopsis: ******* We follow 9 year old Iris from her childhood living within her matriarchal family. She is an odd child who wants to learn to read and write! Via the computer linked headband she can access the Worlds A.I. Internet and gain all the knowledge known to man. Her extended family, comprising almost completely of women, think she is wasting time and 'Credits'. After all, she only needs to know how to fix the machinery if it breaks or how best to sow crops in differing weather climates. But Iris has dreams and ambitions; she wants to work on the "Project". The project is now 400 years old ...

Sexy Venus Goddess Legs

Advantages: Great shave, lovely moisture strips, shave lasts
Disadvantages: replacement blades a bit expensive

I used to shave my legs with Bic razors in the shower with no cream or anything until my husband told me off and told me to stop mutilating my legs so I figured it was time to find something else a little more grown up and that would make my already gorgeous legs (he he) look better than ever. I had seen lots of television adverts for the Venus Vibrance for women from Gillette so decided to give it a go (it might have had something to do with the fact that I love the Bananarama song Venus which is featured in the ad's but, moving swiftly on!) You can buy the razor in Boots for £8.99. This razor is Gillette's first powered razor for women. It is powered by an AA battery which is also sold with the razor. I have had my razor for over a year now and don't think I've ever had to replace the battery yet. There is a button at the bottom ...
