element, water, is the central theme of this fragrance. It represents purity, serenity, movement and vivacity by blending the sparkling qualities of water, with the warm undertones of the earth. LEau DIssey is a pure floral with musky and woody tones. A very complex fragrance, the perfume is made up of a wide range of flower scents including lotus, cyclamen, freesia and carnations, white lilies, with hints of amber-seed musk. Gift Set Includes: 1 x Eau de Toilette Natural Spray (75ml) 1 x All Over Shampoo (100ml)

Today the Badger will be reviewing an old favourite, L'eau D'Issey. A fragrance although made in France is a product of the Japanese fashion/fragrance house Issey Miyake.
I was introduced to this fragrance by a friend of the family. Now don't get me wrong, I don't go around smelling people, this smell simply wafted my way whilst out one night. I was immediately hooked.
As soon as humanly possible I purchased a 75ml bottle of the EDT from Boots for £28.50. L'eau D'Issey is widely available from Boots, Debenhams,. Rackhams, Bodycare and many online stores. Enter "L'eau D'Issey into Google and you will be presented with page after page of suppliers not only of the fragrance, but many of the other products from Issey Miyake ranging from shaving gel, soaps to body lotion and deodorant.
The packaging to the bottle looks subtle yet cool on the perfume counter. Metallic in its finish the box and actual shaping to the bottle are unique. The bottle, made out of thick frosted glass rather than being round is flat, about 3.5cm thick at the bottom. The bottle then tapers to about 1cm thick at the top. It contains a lot of glass and is rather heavy! The frosted glass look and actual colour of the visible liquid reminded me of the Acqua De Gio bottle. It said to me, this is a cool, fresh, vibrant young smell. The picture above says more than I ever could.
The notes to L'eau D'Issey build this fragrance up as being a fresh yet warm woody scent with spicy notes. Released two years after the female version, the male fragrance has the same theme of water running through the smell. This fragrance is meant to excite the senses and make you feel more confident and self assured in the fact that you smell gorgeous. The ingredients include carnation, peony, white lily, nutmeg, saffron and coriander. Again, this fragrance has surprising ingredients, and only time would tell as to whether this would suit me personally.
The fragrance is dispensed via an atomiser at the top of the bottle. On first application only four tiny sprays were needed and the bathroom began to fill with an extremely sweet, fruity fragrance. The carnation and lily were evident and my first impression were that of a sweet, light fragrance which seemed to fade fairly quickly. I swore I could smell a hint of lemon, but this isn't mentioned in the notes!
Although it seemed to fade, that first initial blast from the bottle seemed to give me that wake up call I needed. A pleasant assault on my nose.
Although the smell was noticeable as I moved around, the smell became heavier, with the woody earthy undertones of nutmeg and cinnamon. The fragrance was still very subtle to me, but not to others around me and I was complimented by several people over the next seven hours of the smell.
After wearing the fragrance for around four hours the smell was no longer present as far as I could tell although when undressing, the fragrance still smelt beautiful on my shirt, although by this time it was a warm spicy smell. This was around 10 hours after those first four blasts with the atomiser.
Further applications were required later in the day, just to get that fresh feeling back, but on the whole I was very pleased with the staying power and the nice compliments. As this is a fresh, light, citrus fragrance I'd put it in the same league as Acqua De Gio and Joop. It's aimed at males from 20 to 65, and in all honesty, every time I've smelt this on another person it has smelt as lovely.
Bearing in mind only four blasts of the atomiser were required for good coverage, the 75ml bottle lasts for at least three months at a time, and at less than £30 a bottle, it's a bargin and a must have for any sensible bloke who likes to smell damn good. This fragrance will get you complimented in the office and laid on a night out. It really is a wonder fragrance.
I personally don't have sensitive skin, and have never had a problem with using this aftershave, but my brother has, so prior to purchasing you may like to try a tester out just to make sure you don't come out in a nasty red rash. If you don't have a reaction, buy it.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
*Without going into too much detail here. The female version of L'eau D'Issey is pretty much the same as the male version. The only difference is that the female version is a touch lighter and sweeter. This is also highly recommended*
Thanks for taking the time to read and rate.

Advantages: Gorgeous fragrance, instant opposite sex attraction! Disadvantages: None
...Well here you are - Issey will always get a woman asking what gorgeous fragrance your wearing mainly because it smells so unlike any other. A great starting point to get that conversation on the way. ~ HOW GOOD IS THE STAYING POWER?
So how about its staying power I hear you asking then? Excellent infact, after my other half giving this a go (he loved it!) and applying some before we went out in the evening he still managed to smell gorgeous when ... ...The originality and design of Issey is also another point leading in its favour. Packaged in a simple rectangle box with colours mixed pale blue, white and silver striped is subtle but good looking and the actual design of the bottle is simple but effective. The flat, frosted glass bottle with its big silver cap and spray nozzle will look good in any mans bathroom cabinet and also gets the thumbs up for ease of use! Ranging from two different bottle ...

AWAITING DELETION Review ofIssey Miyake L'Eau D'Issey Homme Eau de Toilette Sprayby

Advantages: Longlasting, distinctive Disadvantages: Not for everyone
I first discovered Issey Miyake’s L’Eau D’Issey pour Homme in late 1999, although the fragrance has been on the market for ten years now, having been released in 1992. As well as the Men’s Eau de Toilette there is of course L’Eau d’Issey for women, which is similarly packaged although the bottle is a conical shape, rather than the “wedge of cheese” shape.
In 2000 L’Eau D’Issey pour Homme Été was introduced – a lighter summer version of the classic ... ...an eye out for the Issey Miyake Travel pack, which is available only in flight (I have seen it on KLM and British Airways Flights). The set, which costs €35 (that’s about £22 in proper money) contains a 75ml EdT spray and a 50ml deodorant spray in plastic bottles with the deodorant (the blue bottle) slotting into the EdT bottle (the white transparent bottle). Being in plastic they can obviously survive the knocks of being in your luggage, and they ...

Advantages: Nice designed bottle, great smell, good staying power Disadvantages: Expensive
...favourite aftershave of mine is Issey Miyake (come to think of it, I actually have lots of favourites!).
Issey Miyake
Issey Miyake released this fragrance in 1994 and it is intended to be fresh, modern and sophisticated.
Packaging The box to the aftershave is light blue and silver and looks quite sophisticated. Issey Miyake is written across the front of the box and L'Eau D'Issey Pour Homme is written underneath that. On the bottom of the box ... ...research, I have found that Issey Miyake is sold in bottle of 50ml, 75ml and 125ml. I can't seem to find a bottle of 30ml so I assume the smallest you can get is 50ml.
Smell The ingredients of this aftershave include a blend spicy carnation, peony and white lily. Apparently this aftershave is meant to be floral and fruity with a blend of fresh and spicy notes. To be honest, I know this doesn't sound very masculine but I can assure you that it is, ...
