Advantages: GREAT LOCATION NEAR THE BEACH Disadvantages: RIMINI
Rimini is not my idea of a perfect destination in Italy, but it's close to San Marino, which isn't a perfect destination in Italy either when you come to think of it. Anyway, Rimini worked out fine for us last year as we wanted to visit San Marino and the choice of hotels was so much better.
That's why we went there - now for where we went there.
We opted for the Ramada Villa Rosa, mainly for the location it has to be said, but also because it looked a half decent hotel at a half decent price (80 euros).
The location couldn't be any better. It's 5 minutes from the historic town centre, sits right on the main drag just across the road from the beach and surrounded by bars and restaurants. We weren't really there for the beach, the historic town centre wasn't up to much but the bars and restaurants held a little more appeal ...
Advantages: Very versatile, excellent quality Disadvantages: More expensive than the standard precision
I recieved this bass around 6 months ago, and for the price i am really impressed with the standard. I paid £220 (brand new condition with protective plastic and tags still intact) which to me is a bargain compared to the £440 retail price!
Starting off with the sound, this bass is very versatile. When (if) you get this bass make sure you sit down and have a play with the control knobs as you will see the number of different sounds you can get out of it. I play hardcore, screamo, blues, rock, classic rock, metal, and this bass manages to create great sounds for all these styles.
The quality of the bass is also very high standard. A great finish with no blemishes really makes it look great on stage. The action was a bit low and there was some fret buzz on the higher frets, but this is quite common on new guitars so a set up at your local ...
Advantages: Good Build, Easy to Maintain, Classic Look, Great Sound Disadvantages: Limited range of sounds
I have now owned my standard P-Bass for just under a year and it is the best bass I have bought yet.
Firstly, it is very well built. I have dropped it, it has fallen over and been bashed and bumped and it's still in nearly new condition. I used to have a squier bass and that was aweful, everything broke on that. Strap buttons came off, and even the pick guard screws started to come out, but I have had none of the same problems with the Fender. And the finish is very hard wearing.
Also, I love the sound of this bass. It is excellent for anything from rock and blues, to swing and jazz.
However, the one thing that I can say isn't that great about this bass is that the circuitry means that there isn't very much of a range of sounds from the bass itself, as there is one tone pot, not like the active preamps of other basses, but ...
