I took out my car insurance with them last September as they easily beat their competitors and allowed me to have a fully comprehensive policy at the same price other companies were offering for 3rd party fire and theft. For my little Vauxhall Nova they wanted only £530 per year for fully comprehensive insurance - which as I lived in Wandsworth at that point was very cheap indeed. This went down to under £400 per year when I moved to Walton-on-Thames. I also have no no-claims bonus as my first banger didn;t make it to the year mark :-(

------------ The Web Page ------------
The web page is easy to use. The main page gives you a choice between doing quotes for the various insurances they offer, or moving to another page if you are a customer.
The customer page then has a series of pretty icons for such things as: Changing a driver, changing a vehicle, changing address, renewal, changing no claims, breakdown cover, general query, cancel policy, make a claim, and "help".
All of these icons take you to a page with an appropriately designed form to complete.
The customer page also has an icon to launch the "e-chat" applet to talk to customer services. There is no telephone number mentioned on the website.
------------- The aftermath -------------
As everything was set up, I more or less forgot about the insurance until my tax and MOT were due. At that point, I popped down to the post office with my printout and other gubbins for the tax disc, and was told that I needed to bring my certificate of insurance.
Certificate of insurance?
Now, I should mention that Its4me are almost ENTIRELY web based. You can either send them e-mails using the forms on their website or use their online live talk applet. Unfortunately the main "talk" applet does not work from behind a firewall, so I couldn't use that. I sent an e-mail but received no response. I did however note a telephone number on my printout, so i called them.
---------------- Customer Service ----------------
Not only were they totally useless, being unaware that they hadn't sent any documentation to me, but they actually advised me to call the policy underwriters, Fortis, (who were more than a little bemused). After some more phonecalls and a strongly worded letter, I finally received my certificate of insurance.
---------------- Claims ----------------
Unfortunately, about 3 months after taking the policy out, some louts decided they liked the look of my radio. They were unable to remove my new radio but nicked my old (non-working) radio (ha!) and damaged the lock on the passenger door of my car.
I went to the website, and with a few clicks was presented with an on-line claims form. I completed this and got a little screen saying they would be in touch. And nothing happened.
I then telephoned and they did send someone out to look at the lock. He basically told me to forget it. Said I'd get little for the radio (I didn't tell THEM it didn't work!!) and it wasn't worth claiming for the lock. Lucky their claims assessors are so knowledgeable huh?
I did chase up the claim to find out whether what he said was true, but got nowhere.
------------ Plus Sides ------------
The customer service is unquestionably crap, but then my car is an old car and only worth a few hundred quid. If it gets written off, I expect to get a few hundred quid back, but otherwise don't expect much.
The plus point is that the insurance is underwritten by Fortis who are quite reputable, and if I did feel like making a song and dance, it would be to Fortis I would address my letters.
------------- Another bonus -------------
I did add on my finacée as an additional driver (permanent) and not only was this smooth easy and efficient, but they also charged me -£19 for it. Yep - they took £19 off my insurance.
I still haven't worked that out!
------------ Summary ------------
If you need cheap insurance for an old car, this is a great place to shop. I'm not sure I'd go to them for a quote on a brand new Mercades though. As long as you don't need to talk to them much, they insure you adequately, and the insurance is through reputable companies.
Advantages: Cheap for new drivers Disadvantages: You have to keep pushing them ALL the time.
Its4Me are an on-line insurance company who once you have submitted all your relevant vehicle and personal information, search through their list of insurers to get you the best deal. You can pay monthly or all in one go.
I insured my 13yr old Micra with Its4Me back in October 2003 after shopping around for a good deal. I thought it was a good idea that you can complete all the forms on-line and even print off all the relevant documentation and ... ...a much cheaper alternative. Its4Me sent me a letter detailing how much next years insurance would be. After falling off the sofa at their idea of a 'reduced' premium, I immediately rang them (then found that at 5:50pm Provident had gone home so Its4Me staff couldn't help me). Rang back the next day - again on hold for 20 minutes and I said I did not wish to renew. I was giving them over 3 weeks notice so did not expect it to be a problem. The person ...

...One phone call to Its4me and they sorted everything out.
By everything, I mean:-
1 They dealt with the other people involved in the accident
2 They offered us a courtesy car immediately
3 They arranged for someone to come down and assess the damage
4 They brought a courtesy car and took ours away for repair on a lowloader
5 Brought our car back on a lowloader
6 They arranged a solicitor (who arranged the physio for my wife)
7 Kept us informed ...

Advantages: Cheap Disadvantages: Wait up to 30 minutes for your call to be answered.
It is easy to buy insurance on-line. You can print your own documentation. All this was fine. When I changed my car and needed to update my insurance details, the trouble started. I could not update my details on-line. Their claim to be the first fully on-line service is untrue. If you need to change any insurance details, you have to phone up and wait on hold for up to 30 minutes in my case. There is a web chat service but this was closed at the ...

Quick review of Its4me
It's 4 me is a fraudulent organisation. They are no respecters of the law (data protection act). Their attitude fails to respect good administration. I also find their actions unfair because they change their premuim anytime because you gave them access to direct debit with your bank. In fact it is is abseolute abuse of power for them to keep your credit card details to charge it as they will. What kind of policy is that? They are fraudsters, under the data protection act that is a criminal offence! ...

Following this I had to literally prise the Certificate of Insurance for another car out of them so I could tax that car.

Advantages: points Disadvantages: if you dont pay it off
Overview
------------
I have had this credit card for around 4 years now. It has always worked perfectly for me. As an avid Tesco fan i trade my points in for deals tokens and enjoy a treat every year.
Incentives
-------------
1 point for every £1 spent in Tesco. 1 point for every £4 spent elsewhere. But dont forget with deals tokens you can get 4x the value of your points. These tokens can be used for restaurants, trips, hotels, days out ect. Theres hundreds of activities to choose from and they change some every 3 months.
Looks
--------
I have a Platinum card which looks great - I think they have stopped doing these cards now which is a shame as my partner wanted one. The normal cards arnt as cool and i wouldnt be as keen to use them i dont think.
Paying them back
----------------------
I pay the balance on my card in ...
Advantages: Used to be the cheapest Disadvantages: Quite a few
failed to contact the company regarding repossing of goods - after my slight heartattack the problem was resumed. Another time I was threatened with court even though it had been paid, the system said it was paid but somehow I kept receiving letters to say I hadn't. Anyway, after 4 phonecalls (they made me ring the debt collectors with ref, nos - cheeky gets) it was sorted.
No apologies, no monetary incentives to keep me, no nothing! If I wasn't selling the house I would definately leave them but transferring takes too long and to be honest I want to keep contact with them to a minimum - I'll continue to pay the bills and hopefully they'll say I have! ...

I bank with Halifax and I have to say that they aren't the best bank that I know of.
I have alot of international cheques to cash in and I guess like other banks they charge you for changing the money from one currency to the next. I had a 30 dollar (£20) cheque and they wanted £1 to change it. Then I got a 60 dollar and they charged me £4 to change it. So for double the money they x4 for there commission. I have an 211 dollar cheque to cash in...I can't imagine what they are going to charge for it.
So don't go for them if you have international cheques.
But other than that they are pretty good and they are quick and helpful.
