Advantages: Quality fully wired scart cable Disadvantages: bulky connector head
There are many cheap scartleads and many expensive scartleads. The cheapest may not be fully wired and hence not pass on all signals such as AV switching and screen mode through to the TV, and the most expensive may not appear to give value for money.
The Ixos XFT02 is their entry level scartlead costing between £13-£20 depending where you look. The scart is fully wired, is constructed with oxygen free copper conductors with gold plated connectors, and is well shielded against emf interference. The scart does exactly what it is meant too without being too expensive for non-enthusiasts. These aren't the cheapest of scarts, but are at the low end of quality leads which are designed for signal performance rather than price.
The only drawback is that the connector head is quite bulky with the side-exiting lead, so this may foul ...
Advantages: Far better picture than standard composite, better looking games Disadvantages: Expensive, Only needed for larger screens 32" or greater
After the release of the little white bundle of joy on the 8/12/2006 people were given a composite cable to show off their new shinny new console.
AV enthusiasts all know a composite signal is the poor quality option for showing video on their TV's - what people really want is RGB or Component video input.
As console manufactures are out to make a profit they usually bundle the cheapest and most compatible option with the console and then release upgrades to that product for people who need or want it. Nintendo understand this and have released two video upgrade options - the Wii RGB cable or the Wii Component cable.
Lets get things straight from the off, The Nintendo Wii is not a High Definition Console, What this cable does offer is a enhanced image resolution of 480p.
I finally got hold of the component videocable after ...
Advantages: Great pictures and you can connect it to a number of devices. Disadvantages: It is expensive and the cable is quite short.
The Sony male VMC 15HD Video / Audiocable is very cheap for the thing it does which is transfer images. This cable is the future of HD TV I paid £25.00 for this cable. The UK Sony website sells it at £29.00 but there are plenty of other suppliers out there.
This is a great piece of kit for transferring pictures from HD DVD players to HD TVs and still leaves the pictures with a very high picture quality you on the screen with its high rate data transfer "which means it loses very little detail."
Sony states Gold-plated terminals for much improved signal transmission.
This cable has gold plated connectors "The connectors are the gold bits at either end of the cable that go into the two devices e.g. TV to DVD.
The cable is one and a half meters long this is more than enough cable to connect it up to my new blu ray HD ...
