Advantages: Full control of music functions Disadvantages: Styling may not suit all tastes
...I found my existing Bluetooth Jabra BT250 seemed to lose audio very easily with my new phone, and the fact that I would like to listen to music from the phone through the headset.
I considered the Sony Ericsson HBH DS220, but was put off by both the price, and the lack of features (the buttons only let you answer calls and change the volume, not change tracks). I've had this headset for a week now, and I'm very pleased with it.....
I bought it from a '3' store in Dundee, and paid £39.99 for it, I know you can get them for less from internet sources, but I wanted one right then and there !
I'm using it with my Sony Ericsson C902, and it works perfectly with all the features of the phone, and 'pairs' easily when powered up. I originally started looking for a new headset when I found my existing Bluetooth Jabra BT250 seemed to lose audio very easily with my new phone, and the fact that I would like to listen to music from the phone through the headset.
I considered the Sony Ericsson HBH DS220, but was put off by both the price, and the lack of features (the buttons only let you answer calls and change the volume, not change tracks). I had read some reviews of the Jabra BT3030 indicate that the audio was too quiet, so I was taking a chance by buying on the spur of the moment, but I'm pleased to report that the audio is fine, and will go as loud as you like.
The controls are very good, and the exact functionality may depend on your particular phone, but you can answer/end/reject calls, change music tracks and volume from the unit itself. There is a multi colour LED that indicates the state of charge of the battery, and also what mode the unit is in. The LED flashes periodically, like most bluetooth devices do, to show that it's in range, and you may find people wondering what you've got round your neck, when they see the flash, and first notice the unit.
The control buttons are slightly raised, through the cutouts in the stainless steel panel, and have a 'silicon' feel to them. When pressed, the buttons have a subtle tactile 'click to them.
Charging is by a mini-USB type socket on the bottom of the unit, into which you plug the included wall charger. It may be possible to use USB leads of the right size, and charge it from your computer, but I haven't tried this yet.
The unit comes with in-ear phones, that are quite good, regarding sound quality, but the 3.5mm stereo socket lets you use your choice of earphones anyway. Included are a bead chain to wear it around your neck, and a plastic clip for clothing, which is stronger than it looks in the pics ! I have replaced the bead chain with a paracord lanyard, as I thought the bead chain looked too 'military', yes, I know that's the intention of the design, but it's just my preference.
Rated specs for this unit are: 7 hours of music playing, 8 hours talk time, and 230 hours standby. Weighs 30 grams also.
Recommended? Yes, it's good, but the style may not suit everyone.

Finally a product that lets you listen to music from your mobile - without damaging your style!BT3030 plays music from any enabled device such as mobile phone and Mp3 player. Play, pause, skip - remote control your music without touching your mobile. Yep, that’s right - no wires! No need for phone envy - keep it in your pocket! When a call comes in, your tune pauses and the call connects. A microphone in the dog tag picks your voice up, loud and clear. No hands, no missed calls. The dog tag design keeps the wearing style simple. But if it doesn’t fit your wardrobe, use the optional clip. Your belt, your bag, your pants - you choose the look, you choose the style.
