I have owned 2 pairs of JBLControl 1 speakers and they have never let me down! The first pair I owned I gave to my dad as he liked the sound so much!
These are bookshelf speakers and measure (H x W x D) 227 x 130 x 140 mm. They can be mounted on a stand, on a shelf or you can also order the wall brackets from jbl.
For the size they have an excellent sound, warm solid bass with crisp mid and treble. They are 100 watts RMS and can really handle some power. The speaker is 2 way, comprising of a 4" bass woofer and a 1/2" titanium laminate dome tweeter. These speakers also feature a front mounted bass port. When you play the speakers loud its is astonishing the amount of air that is forced out of the bass ports!

-The box-
The box is a white colour with a black top and outlining. It has Control 1X written on the side. The box is just big enough to fit the 2 speakers in it perfectly. The speakers sit into a polystyrene sleeve. I don't know if there are any instructions with these speakers as I didn't get them in a shop and I don't know if my dad has them lying around somewhere.

I've just finished installing 2 pairs of these speakers with the JBLControl SB2 Sub Bass Speaker. The single cone Sub is designed to drive 2 pairs of top speakers in stereo.
Having switched the system on for the first time today and got some music running through it I was primarily amazed at the projection of these little babies. They throw the sound really well and the overall sound I can describe in one word: Crisp!
Without the Sub Bass unit these speakers extend down to 80hz which is a respectable figure for such a compact cabinet. I would imagine that, on their own these speakers would make ideal candidates for background music in bars, cafe's and restaurants. They would also make pretty tasty surround speakers in a Dolby setup and are a viable alternative for home hi-fi for those who want a more professional sound. Do not ...
