Loving to listen to my ipod on the one hand, but also wanting to be free from having earphones falling out every ten seconds or having to take them out to hear people talk to me, I invested in these speakers, and I was not disappointed. It is a small, compact single unit which sits on myself in front of my books, taking up almost no space. The speaker quality from my experience is excellent - it can go much louder than I have ever needed in my busy house. One thing that I find particularly useful is the remote control, which means that I can adjust volume on a new song, or pause it when I want to leave the room, without going all the way to the speakers. Two other things I like about it are that you can use it without a power cable for a certain amount of time and also, you can connect your CD or (if you even remember what they are!) tape player. (The cable is provided). It also charges your ipod when connected to the mains. Two minor disadvantages are that unlike other speakers, you cannot connect the unit to the computer to update your ipod and when you press play on the remote, it takes about 1/2 a second to get going. It is however great value, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a high-quality, compact unit at a cheap price.
