Advantages: Gets the job done quick Disadvantages: Heavy to use
...to cut the garden.
It has 4 cutting heights, the four wheels are easily raised or lowered with an allen key. This is stored on the lawnmower so you should never have to look around for it.
It even sounds good and has a powerful 1200W engine
It works with a metal blade that makes light work of gliding through the grass, the flymo had plastic blades that were constantly snapping and needed replacing and usually broke half-way through leaving me with a half cut garden.
The JCB comes with a large grass box, It holds 50 litres of grass so you do not have to keep emptying it.
At the end of the session the lawnmower needed cleaning and all the grass removed from inside but it is easy to do there are no fiddly corners to clean.
The only downside to the lawnmower was its weight. My Flymo was a petite 4.5kg. The JCB is a hefty 16.00kg...

...The Bosch ASG-52 is a fine example of a power tool - just the sort of thing you'd hope to find in any self-respecting gadjet-freak's garage!
So what exactly will the ASG-52 do for you ? Well, it could probably take off a finger or two if you're not careful with it. This really is a chainsaw on a stick.

The chainsaw is an electrically powered mini-chainsaw - the chain being somewhat like linked sections of barbed wire. The saw will go through tree branches with ease - I've managed up to around 8cm (3") diameter branches.
This tool is so much easier than using a manual/'pull the rope' lopper and speeds up the task of pruning a tree dramatically.
On the downside - it's possible to trap the chain in a branch if you try taking on something took...

Advantages: Makes twigs and the like easy to compost. Disadvantages: Cost is about the only disadvantage..
...When you hear the title JCB, you automatically think of Joseph Cyril Bamford - indeed that is the same company that makes these shredders. The firm was set up in 1945 at the end of the war. They are world famous (based in 150 countries) for making heavy earth moving equipment, and now are setting their sights on smaller bits of kit, in this case, the humble garden shredder.
As already stated, the company has depots all over the world, they are a state of the art, high profile company who keep up with the times. The range of spare parts available is around 80%, this compares very well with other firms.
The shredder itself, is called the GS 1800, which is a little strange, as Black & Decker akso have a shredder called the GS 1800. I did at first think the two firms were sharing the same model, just different badges...
